Just when you thought you had it, a final wipe down usually reveals something you missed. That applies to so, so many situations. Like relieving yourself in old age.

Good Late Morning/Early Afternoon Cloudy with a cold north wind. No snow in sight, other than a few flurries. I was about to order a new pair of cross-country ski boots, but it looks like a snowless winter. Just got off a Zoom meeting with my former client's attorney. We are well-prepared for my deposition next Friday. I don't have a good feeling about opposing counsel, which is a pretty good mindset for going into a deposition. Workshop time ahead, might go out for a walk. Not good walking weather, but I'm feeling stuck in the house. Order the boots. If it snows it'll be too late to order them and get them before the snow melts.

One of the Jeopardy winners this week was a guy named Connor Sears, a copy editor from Queens. I assume all NY-based copy editors know each other, so pass along my congratulations. Never heard of him. There are only 11 million people here, you'd think I might know the guy.
But only 2.37 million copy editors, so that narrows it down.

Now if it were 12 million, that would be entirely different.

I have the Mecum car auction from Kissimmee on the telly, and this just sold for a cool $1 million.

I first read that as "reliving" because I was working at the same time. Now I get it. 😆

Fake news, Marshall. I have treated many a fellow copy editor to coffee and crumpets.

I often pick up the tab, but then I set it back down and wait some someone else to pay it.
