Pat and I had the full theater experience today complete with reclining seats and super sized diet Coke’s and popcorn.
Otto was a good flick, oozing syrup and inclusiveness with every food group covered but in spite of the Hallmarkish vibe we both throughly enjoyed it and were brought to tears several times. It’s important to like Tom Hanks.
As the lights came on at the end, the medium sized audience revealed itself to be mostly tottering “anciens” as they made their unsteady exit.
Highlight? The credits. Took about 10 minutes and included at least 5-600 names, many occupying titles completely foreign to both of us.

I'm somehow completely intent on confusing this with a book my wife and I both read called "A Man Called Ove". If this is half as good as the book I keep confusing it with, it's definitely worth a watch. Take that for whatever it strikes you as meaning.
Got great news on the job front and this post is produced by great bourbon, compliments of my son in law.

It is, indeed, the movie version of the book - relocated to the US, with a name change to Otto. Congratulations on the job news (and the bourbon)!

Avavtar cost almost $200 for 4 including tickets, drinks and snacks, $14 for a flipping hot dog, $8 for a large Icee. As a kid we spent an entire Saturday afternoon for 25 cents each. Get Off My Lawn!

And, yes, I think this movie is an Americanization of the Swedish book, "A Man called Ove." The book was (is?) great. Haven't seen the movie yet. Don't know if I get around to that.
