Good read. We spent lots of time in college listening to Traffic.
A number of years ago I had insomnia on a Saturday night and sat up listening to YouTube videos of Traffic, Blind Faith, etc. After dozing thru the Sunday sermon, I came home and worked up a version of John Barleycorn Must Die on clawhammer banjo (it lends itself well to "mountain modal" tuning. It sounds something like this:

It’s a fairly simple song, but I’m struck again by just how hard it is to do simple well.
