Another non-video daily. Just imagine the music and pictures in your head.
Get moving.

Woke up today to find my wife had accidentally broken one of the three Bauman coffee mugs we had. We were both quite disappointed. They are a favorite amongst the coffee mug menagerie.

Before using, cover the remaining two in bubble wrap. I still have green commemorative gathering cup from the AG get together at Front Porch in 2000. I think I have 4 others. Maybe I should increase the insurance on them.

Good morning.
17F-33F mostly cloudy.
Usual Sunday stuff except the girls will be joining us for breakfast. Then I'll get my new bench ready to move into position tonight when Grandsons get here this evening.
I made some 8 can chili yesterday, pretty darn good. Almost no prep time, how long does it take to open 8 cans? I did add my own touches to it but so would anyone. Recipe in the library and it is easily enough for 6 so I'll be sending some home with the girls.
29 Days Until Spring.

Another instrument has joined the family fold. Jupiter Bb trombone with F attachment, open wrap. I guess the trip up to Angola this weekend paid off for someone. Paul, don't hate me if I bought a crappy brand; it wasn't the cheapest but it was on the cheaper side. And it was the one that Collin said, "Oh yeah, this one sounds right." As we walked out of the orchestral instruments section of the store with the new acquisition safely in its case, my non-demonstrative son looked straight ahead and said, "This is so great." I smiled inwardly, careful not to disturb the teenage expression of joy. The weekend also involved a fun run down the Pokagon toboggan run, where we hit at least 36 mph, a trip to a bison preserve where we learned a lot from a self-described old hippie (82 yrs old) who reminded me of Doug, a quick drive up to Michigan so one of our trip members could cross another state off her list, and a candlelight hike. And some old boat motors, for you engine geeks.

Sunny, windy, and 20’s. Pat tested positive Monday and just completed a course of Paxlovid. She is doing quite well. So far I am negative as of yesterday so it’s looking good for me squeaking by. Weird Stuff.
We have no idea where she got it. We ate at a truck stop on the way back from the cities five days before and that’s about the only thing we could think of.

Good morning. 50s-70s and cloudy. Wife and I will attend church virtually this morning and we've agreed to go to a nearby park and community garden this afternoon to see what's blooming. Nothing else to report except a comment on today's Wordle. Enjoy your day.
Spoiler alert: the following discussion might give a leg up to those who haven't worked the puzzle yet.
This was very difficult, largely because it's a word that was borrowed from another language in the last 150 years, so it doesn't follow the standard rules of English. This is an example of a Wordle puzzle that's easier in hard mode than in regular more. By the third guess, I had trouble finding anything to play at all. When I finally found a word it was the answer.
Wordle 610 3/6*

I was going to wait a few years yet before taking it over to Antique Roadshow to get a valuation on it.

The Covid part sounds familiar. Diane came down with it in September, I think. She had one very bad day and then the Paxlovid made her feel significantly better. My son and I separated from her and from each other in the same house, wearing masks indoors. (We were both already vaccinated and boosted.) I thought that was something of a joke and that we'd both get it eventually but we didn't.

Having a mopey Sunday, although I did do some grocery shopping and my laundry. The kid is trying to come up with an excuse not to go to lunch with her brother (belated birthday) and decided she doesn't want to get another piercing in her ear, although he made an appointment. I am completely out of this one. He is likely going to be quite irritated. I am tired of teenage BS, to tell the truth.

Getting ready to head out to the Mercantile in Garrison to listen to some music this afternoon and have some delicious food. I'll stop and pick up Phil on the way.
BTW Todd's open mic at the Brickdide in Vinton was a success. Quite a few Idiots there and some musicians too. Only problem for me was I had a cup of their coffee and then was unable to sleep when I got home.

Holy cow, do I wish I lived within shouting distance of the Mercantile. We have nothing like that around here.

We have nothing like that around here. The Mercantile was a great concert. It was our (Fiddlerina's and my) friend Marc Janssen who plays everything well, often with his wife, Brandi, and sometimes with a swing ensemble or The Burlington Street Bluegrass Band. This latest ensemble is Marc Janssen and the Locals doing Marc's original songs in a classic country style. They'll have an album out in a month or two.

A postscript on my travel to Pokagon State Park; my dad spent some time living in Sturgis, MI, as a kid - which is only about 30 miles away from the park. He went there several times when he was younger.

Grandsons Tyler and Sam came by this evening and started on the major parts of my shop rearrangement. They got the new main workbench in place and the new lighting bar over it up and working. No more swing lamps and a TON of light over the bench that can be adjusted right where it needs to be. I have to be careful of what gets moved at any given time or I may not be able to work but so far it's great.
Photos to follow.
