Heavy frost on the yard. Not one snowflake. It should hit 50 today. Breakfast awaits.

I did get out snowshoeing later yesterday and it was great, sunny and 20’s by afternoon. Today looks even better.
It’s amazing how the sun lifts one’s spirits.

Glutten mornin.
Running off to church in a bit to play in the band. Spent yesterday in the Morgan Park Pentecostal Church. Funeral for my Son-in-law's mother; Myrtle Ferguson. Great lady. Pleasure to have known her. She was 91. Came from Jamaica as a nanny. Brought her family over a couple years later. Lived in housing projects for a coupe years until they could buy a house in Morgan Park. She was a pillar of that church. She had the formal title of "Mother" Ferguson. Not a nick-name. It's a title in the church.
The 2 1/2 hr service was rockin. My church has a $300k pipe organ. Their church has a Hammond B3. You can guess which one I like better. There was a drummer and a sax player as well. Back 15 years ago when my daughter was dating Trevor, they went to the church one Sunday. The preacher stopped in mid sermon and said, "Wait, there's a white person in our church today !" There were a dozen or more yesterday.
But the whole affair, including burial and luncheon afterwards was over the top in terms of everybody trying to outdo everybody else telling stories about Mother Ferguson. It's an hour+ drive from our house. We were gone 11 1/2 hours for the whole affair. But these are lovely loving people. I'm grateful to be part of their family.
Busy day ahead. See you later.

Hopefully with a Leslie 145 so you can crank it up a little and get it to growl. Not a 147, too loud.

Today Mr. H and I celebrate our 40th anniversary. It started raining about 6:00 AM and so far we have a third of an inch with wind. But maybe it will clear off before we head to church. The choir is not singing today, so we get to sit together. Dinner reservations here: www.rendezvoustucson.com/It's a short drive to the restaurant and will still be daylight when we go. I feel comfortable enough with my vision to get us home in the dark. Tuesday is my right eye cataract surgery, so we'll be hunkering down again after that.

Happy Annaversery Hobson!
Up and coffee. The sun came out this morning. Nice to see, even if still chilly. Wordle in three was easy today. For a change.
Have a good day everyone.

I saw the sun come up this morning, it's bright out now but not full sun. Rain is forecast to start at 10:00 pm tonight.
I attended a Celebration of Life, yesterday for an old friend/coworker. I was hoped to see some of the people we used to work with, but didn't see any. Other than the family there were only 3 people I recognized, all musicians, and one of those I didn't care to talk to. I've been working on taxes this morning, making good progress.
I'm trying to put a song together, I did a rough recording yesterday to see what it might sound like. I didn't like the way it sounded and it was too long, 4.5 minutes with a break. Guess it's back to the drawing boards to see if it can be saved.

Happy anniversary to Renee and Mr. H.
The lowest temperature I saw at our place was 47 on our patio, which probably means the low in the backyard was in the low 40s. It's overcast and will probably get up to about 55 today. We had showers during the night but they weren't much.
My wife and I had planned to attend virtual church but I'm wavering in that plan for several reasons.
Marshall, we have a fancy and expensive organ in our church. My first reaction when I heard about it was that we could use that money for a lot more worthy purposes, such as providing financial support for a food bank. But one thing I've known since I first got involved in church administration, over 30 years ago, is that some people will donate money for tangible things like organs and buildings who wouldn't donate to feed other people. I was told that was the case with the organ. So I might as well enjoy it, and I do. You can feel some of the bass notes in your gut. Before Covid, we had monthly organ recitals that were well attended. A friend who has always viewed religion as nonsense came regularly to the organ recitals. Organists from around the Southwest would travel to Phoenix to play on that organ.
Stay well, everyone.

The church I grew up in has a wonderful organ, made by Reuter Organ Company (also located in my hometown). When I was growing up the organist was also the organ professor at KU, and being located in a university town with a strong music program the organ would also occasionally be used for recitals. Here's a picture from the original installation, 101 years ago:

Tho it's supposed to rain some, we're going to try for a farmer's market. Someone's birthday today, not mine, dinner plan is for fresh pasta, I think the sauce is already done.

Happy 40th Anniversary to you Hobsons.
It is my youngest son's birthday. We agreed to celebrate it next weekend because today his friend arranged for some court time on the Portland Trailblazer basketball floor. I hope he survives his full-court game.
Though it is 40 F the snow/ice does not want to leave. Hopefully rain today will melt it.

It looks & feels like spring today. In the Chicago area, it makes a fear a massive blizzard will hit us soon.
