Everybody's shop is cleaner than mine, for the time being. My custom vises. I'm just showing you because they are hard to see in Don's photo. The blue one from Harbor Freight is about $20 and makes a dandy nut/saddle vise. The neck vise is made from a carpenters parallel clamp. It's a bit more work to make but worth it if you want a really good string changing station. Holds the guitar rock solid while you work.

I have the StewMac nut/saddle vise but put it in my Shop Fox Parrot vise to raise it up to a good working level. The Parrot vise turns 360 both horizontally and vertically. I've also made a few different non parallel jaw pad sets for it. Good for doing neck resets. If you search the web for a Patternmakers vise you can find them cheaper than the StewMac one, and in a better color.

Sitting down town at a railway station......no, wait, I'm actually at the family restaurant in Vinton. Big news this morning; the red winged blackbirds have returned!! they're about a week and a half earlier that usual. First true migratory birds to arrive. Is spring really coming?? I see the redwing blackbirds all over the country on my route these days. Still haven't heard them, though. But I did hear a cardinal's spring song today. We're expecting a significant snow at the end of the week. I hope they're wrong. I have to do route 7 on Saturday and it's a bear in the cold. Still haven't got the "we've got your OT-22 in stock" email yet.

Up and at em. Coffee and some sort of breakfast, suns out, still coolish. Still planning on heading back north, probably on Sunday next, the weather could have been warmer this trip but at least its not snowing on the desert floor, it’s below freezing in Portland. Have not had any more vertigo, hope to stay that way. Spending less time on the iPad seems to have helped. Wordle 619 5/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟨⬜⬜⬜ 🟨🟨🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟨🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Mike Mike, Do not hurry back to Newberg. It has been wet and cold here. The last three days have been a barrage of wet snow, snow rain mix, and yesterday, about two inches of hail. The roads and yards were covered. It sucks to be outside in it. At least it is all melting. I was not aware that you suffered from vertigo. Is the association of vertigo and ipads/tablets a true medical thing?

Makes it hard to cleanly play those first-position chords.
