Anyone interested in sharing their nuttiest dreams? I can start with one I had last night.
We were shopping for a new car for Pat and this greasy haired dealer was trying to sell us a “Checker”- made by “Checker Motors for the Checker cab company”. “Virtually indestructible, will last a lifetime”. It looked like a cab with the top crudely sawed off and a bilious maroon/cream color scheme.
My wife thought it too garish so he showed us a much plainer model and then said “look at this” as he reached underneath and pulled out a trundle bed.

I have a recurring nightmare that drops in every couple of weeks. For some reason I'm in England with a friend or co-worker from there but I lose track of him and now I'm lost. The strange part is that I recognize some of the streets from previous nightmares so start up one I think I know but it doesn't go where I expected so now I'm more lost. Sometimes there's a car involved, MGB usually that I parked somewhere before I lost my friend and I can never find where I parked it. I've never been to England.

My dreams are typically so weird that I am glad I can't remember them for more than a few minutes after waking up. As I mentioned the other day, way too often they include portions where I am editing news copy, I mean detailed, not-fun editing.
Another odd thing is that very often my dreams are populated by people I don't know, have never seen before.

Who needs a trundle bed when you're in the back seat of a Checker cab?

I've slept more in the past two days than I have in the past two and a half years (not cumulatively, of course), and for some reason all the sleep is riddled with vivid dreams. I woke this morning with yet another dream about things in the past and for a moment contemplated that my whole life was flashing before me in two day's sleeping.

Well timed topic. My dream wasn’t weird but it’s interesting to see this topic after having it. Last night I dreamed about IJam. I know we were at the Merc and I remember that Mark, Joy, Lonnie, and Russell were in the dream. There were crowds of people and I was making my way through the crowd, holding my guitar. I don’t remember much more of the dream. I wish I could remember more of it. It did seem to be a happy dream, though.

For a few years I had dreams with a recurring theme of being in a mostly empty movie theatre, and someone starts shooting at me. I duck behind seats and start shooting back. (This was before I met Doug, and no, I do not carry a gun in real life). It is the only recurring theme dream I remember having.

I have homes and towns that recur in my dreams. These are places I've been to (in my dreams) probably over the last couple of decades. They bear no resemblance to actual places I've been, but they are instantly recognizable to me when they appear.

My recurring dream has to do with a huge ocean wave catching me as I try to get to the shore. I wake up dry and intact and surprised.

I don’t remember much more of the dream except the guy kept mumbling about maidrites ad squirrels. I wish I could remember more of it. It did seem to be a happy dream, though.

I've been having a cousin of Bruce's wandering-around-lost dream for years, though it's merely unsettling rather than a nightmare, and most often takes place at a convention: I get separated from my party (sometimes including C.) and wander around the halls and conference rooms of a big hotel (or sometimes around strange city streets) until I wake up.
I've also been on both sides of the classroom dream as teacher and student, finding myself unprepared to teach a class or take an exam. There was a time when that happened to me when I was awake.
In my favorite oddball dreams I find that I can play an instrument--often the trumpet--even though I'm thinking, "I don't know how to do this!" Nevertheless, I play.
