The Belgian jazz guitar forum pointed me to this Facebook group, primarily for the Mary Osborne Soundies, but scroll down a ways and you'll find one by Texas Jim Lewis' band, which is half straight-up western swing and half Spike Jones. www.facebook.com/groups/484231589347045/The other Soundies are just as interesting.

I absolutely loved those. Thank you, Russell. The fiddler in Texas Jim Lewis’s band who is closest to stage right looks like the same fiddler who is part of Eddie Kirk’s band on some of the Merle Travis soundies. They must all have been working in Hollywood at the time.
