Sunday morning breakfast awaits. Get to the table or miss out. Sit down and grab a biscuit.

Good morning
24F-41F sunny
Yes breakfast awaits. But first I have to get the cats in so they are not locked out for hours while breakfast and shopping. In a month if they go out they can stay out all day, in fact they like to. They have their favored sleeping spots and only come in for food, water and a cuddle.

On this day, in 1820:
Future Mormon church leader Joseph Smith has his "First Vision" in a wooded area of New York, according to Mormon scholars.
[Poster's note: I'd wager there were some potent mushrooms in that wooded area.]
Biography: Joseph Smith was an American religious leader known as the founder of the Latter Day Saint movement. He published the Book of Mormon at age 24, which would serve as the foundational text for a religion that number in the tens of thousands by the time of his death and in the millions today.
Smith's religious movement began with a series of visions, one of which led him to a set of buried golden plates from which he transcribed an English translation the contents as the Book of Mormon. He understood his movement as a return to the early Christian Church.
While Smith and his followers sought their own community, this was hampered at first by resistance from locals and violent skirmishes with the government. He would subsequently die after a mob stormed the Illinois jailhouse in which he was awaiting trial.
Born: December 23, 1805 Birthplace: Sharon, Vermont, USA Star Sign: Capricorn
Died: June 27, 1844 (aged 38) Cause of Death: Shot by a mob which stormed the jailhouse in which he was being held

Eric and I will get together today to run through our set list for our gig in April. Nothing new this time.
Last week, we recorded a new tune Eric wanted to do. Taj Mahal's "Paint My Mailbox Blue" It features Eric's harp playing. A good one to add to our set list.

Sunny, hope it stays that way.
Off to church. Granddaughters coming over this afternoon, hopefully they can play outside.

Watched The Fifth Element last night at Marty’s recommendation. If you are looking for a nutty science fiction flick this should fill the bill.
Sunny and 12 degrees heading for 20. I got my two new client guitars strung up yesterday. They are currently gettIng used to feeling the stress of real life as a guitar. No more lollygagging around the shop relaxing.

Speaking of which, The Book of Mormon opens for a limited run in Chicago soon. It was, without a doubt, the funniest thing I have ever seen. i had to see it twice so I could hear the lines I laughed through the first time.

Trip to Costco yesterday afternoon resulted in the good news that Mr. H doesn't need new hearing aids. The bad news is that his hearing has gotten worse. Good news is that he got his hearing aids updated to the latest software and tweaked to his current hearing. We'll see if our conversations are more than me saying something and him repeating back what he thought I said. Church this morning will be another test. Old age is a constant challenge. Breakfast will be "Aussie Bites" (some rolled oat and seed almost healthy lumps) from Costco and some fruit. Later I'll be making salsa fresca to serve with guacamole over grilled swordfish. We have half of a Costco pepperoni pizza left from last night, but will try to eat healthy for a day or two.

I’d have to look it up to remember the whole story, but I seem to recall that Smith was convicted of antiquities fraud some time before he “found the golden tablets” that were written in an unknown language that he then translated into English before they were miraculously taken up to heaven.
I’ve been to the site of Smith’s demise a couple of times.

I’ve been to the site of Smith’s demise a couple of times. I used to drive by on the way to visit my wife's grandparents just over the border in MO. Made a trip to Nauvoo, too, and simultaneously enjoyed myself and also realized how different my religious upbringing was.

Well, the moving of crap around went well. Glad my daughter wanted to hire movers; I'm too old for that stuff now, even with the working out.
I now have a much bigger, more organized space to write and play/record music. And we have a dedicated gym room now.
Going to go out and buy a few things this morning for the room. I have my fiction critique group this afternoon, and then we're going to meet friends for dinner.

OK, I know it's the player and not the instrument, but I am consistently amazed at how good that guitar sounds, Paul. Great job, and nice to hear Eric singing.

I have my fiction critique group this afternoon "I dunno, that kinda sounds made-up." One of the authors I'm friends with posted a review quote a while ago, and I'm paraphrasing: "It felt like the writer was making this up as they were going along." Ummm, yes...

I think the first time I was there was with our Boy Scout group returning from hiking the Lincoln Trail or the Blackhawk Trail for which we received patches. Did the whole Nauvoo-Carthage thing and stood in the 2nd floor cell of the old stone jail that Smith was trying to escape when he was shot by the mob. One can be persuaded that the “Saints” were treated unjustly. They had founded Nauvoo and made it the largest, most prosperous city in Illinois. That of course attracted all kinds of people until the Mormons were vastly outnumbered. Eventually the majority found the Mormons so unpleasant to be around, they drove them from the city. I’ve been told that an accurate depiction of the Mormons in that era is found in A. Conan Doyle’s A Study In Scarlet, a story I’ve read many times.

Maybe it's the Sesson DI that makes the guitar sound better. Eric definitely has a great voice for blues.
