Cock-a-doodle-do. 6:49 and all's well.
It should be about perfect here. It's still quite cold at night but we're sliding into spring.
We've had a Covid case in the household that sent us sinking but is now trending slightly up.
Have a good one.

Hazy sunlight, chilly, rain and snow tomorrow.
A cold anniversary. Three years ago today our daughter, struggling to breathe after fighting COVID for a week, was hauled out of her apartment on a gurney and placed on a ventilator. Fortunately she came off the ventilator after four weeks, was fully recovered after six months. I still cringe when I pass by the apartment building or the hospital.
Otherwise muddling about the house today, entertaining granddaughters this evening while their Mom and Dad go out to a show.

Good morning. The sun is breaking through what was a heavy overcast early this morning. I had planned to go to our monthly song writer's gathering last evening, but at 3:00 pm a gal sent out an email that she had been exposed to covid, last Saturday. She was still planning to attend the gathering. I stayed home.
We have music practice this afternoon, alway a fun time!

Linda and I will take in 9 holes of flogging (I mean golf) this afternoon, followed by late lunch at the local microbrew. High of 80 or so today. Should be nice day to flog. We don't keep score so the points don't matter.

Morning is vastly overrated.

Morning all. Coffee is being consumed. So far, that’s all I got. But the coffee is good so there is that.
Off to battle Wordle.

I'm not one to complain about the weather... but I am rethinking my position.

Good morning
15F-36F sunny
I was going to make spaghetti for the girls last night but when looking in the pasta bin I found a whole bag of bucatini so switched to that. I tarted up a jar of cheap sauce with some mushroom, onion, olives and fire roasted diced tomatoes. All turned out rather nice and the girls like bucatini.
Will take Me Darling Wife to drop off her new glasses prescription as soon as she gets off work so will probably be forced to have dinner out and I know a nice Mexican place right near there. She would rather go to the Red Lobster right close by but we are just going for dinner without draining my bank account. I already know I'll have to take her there for her birthday.

I tried our air fryer on fish (halibut) and chips (Yukon gold) last night. Quite tasty. Yes, the fish could have come out a couple of minutes earlier, but it was still good.

Pat turned 78 today, never thought either of us would make it this far.
Off to Nebraska to see her 99 year old mother and then Colorado to see grandkids.
Checked to be sure wills are in order and the shop straightened up with the new guitars close to ready for delivery in case we have a senior moment behind the wheel. I worry more about that every day.

Get a new car that has a bevy of "auto-drive" safety features. For now, rent a loaded Suburban with auto-steer and accident avoidance for the trip.

Safety features like "lane departure" warnings (cabin buzzing and the vibrating wheel will wake you up from any nap) and "lane-keep assistance" (when engaged will keep you between the lines) are standard with all new Suburbans and Tahoes. And the new "active" cruise control can be set to maintain a safe interval in front and warn you if trouble is coming up from behind. If you doze off in a Suburban, the car will take care of you. (plus, they park themselves)
(and as it is a Suburban, if you insist on having an accident, most of cars you are likely to hit are just speed bumps)

It's been a great day. Our son woke up feeling better. It looks like he'll be going back to work in the next day or so. Neither Diane nor I have symptoms. I spent most of the day outdoors. It's kind of like being on a camping trip but with dinner inside with a loved one.
