Spend last night at an onsen (hot spring)--good baths, great food, fantastic company. The date got me thinking about a shotgun I used to use: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.410_boreBreakfast this morning at the onsen. The wood box to the right had some nori (seaweed) to eat the rice with, the egg colored dish is ...eggs, bottom left is some pickled veggies and umeboshi, top center that's still covered had some veggies. Just below the fish is a glass of fresh apple juice as a starter.

Looks like the start of a lovely day. It should be in the 70s all week & the trees are rapidly budding so these temps will help. Enjoy it.

Good morning. Happy day after Easter.
Busy, busy day yesterday. Out church did 2 services on Easter. I played in the band on 2 songs; sang in the choir for an anthem; and did a solo on guitar and vocal. - In both services. I was exhausted. Had to get there at 7:15 in the morning. Got home at 12:30. Had a half hour to nap. Packed it up and went to my daughter's for Easter dinner festivities. Big crowd there. Probably 30 people or more. Stayed until the bitter end. Drank very nice Jamaican Rum with my son-in-laws. Got home and crashed.
But it was all very good.

Good morning, all.
A little chilly here by our standards for this time of year, but it should warm up soon. My lawn is now pretty uniformly green, so mowing season is upon us.

Our family gathering yesterday was very warm and pleasant, seven of us, ranging in age from 12 to 87. We scarfed lamb shanks and gravy over rice pilaf, grilled asparagus, salad, red wine, carrot cake and more. Sadly, my niece's husband threw out his back and couldn't make the trip from Bayfield to Eau Claire. He's a really cool guy and we all missed his company.
Traffic was tolerable both ways -- I've learned that the best way to deal with busy freeways is to stay in the right lane and drive a couple of MPH over the limit. You get passed by these trains of bumper-to-bumper cars but you yourself have lots of space to relax and watch the scenery slide by.

Good morning
45F-70F sunny.
Going to be nice so I'll need and excuse to do an errand or two. Being out of milk is good enough. Cats woke me up just before sunrise wanting out, they knew it was going to be nice out also.
Before that will be shop time. Almost done with that Harmony rebuild and I'll start another major repair, maybe two since I now have layout room for a clamped up guitar to be out of the way while glue dries.
I mentioned Easter dinner in yesterday's daily but didn't mention the deviled eggs DaWife made early in the day to snack on. Those left over just might be breakfast. Out of milk so I can't have cereal.
EDIT: Just remembered that I have those two Paracho 778mm scale guitars that I would like to make into baritone classicals. Bet I could get a fast sale on one if done. Nylon string baritones are rare.

Good morning, looks like another nice day here. Last Thursday I saw my first, tractor in the field, for this spring. The guy was knifing in anhydrous in a field near Vinton.
Yesterday, going to and coming home from the cabin there was a lot of field work going on, tractors everywhere.
Excitement at the cabin was a little different. The top of a big cherry tree laying across the driveway, fortunately I had the chainsaw with me. Then on the driveway, very near the cabin a dried up deer carcus. I shoveled it off into the woods. Yuck.
Good news is the icestorm we had about a month ago, brought down a very large widow maker that was hung up in a tree. I was really glad to see it laying on the ground.it wasn't in a location where anyone would normally walk under it, but it would have been very difficult to remove it safely.

Good morning. It's chilly here but will probably reach the 90s later.
Easter was pleasant. An inspiring sermon. After that a quiet day at home.
Got a doctor's appointment at midday. Two friends are coming by for beer in the backyard around 5:00. Should be warm but they picked the day and time.

Strolling over to the post office shortly to post our tax stuff. Supposed to hit about 64° later. Currently 52° in Kings County. Saddened once again by another mass shooting, this one in Louisville this morning.

Morning. Did a mini-Marshall. No soloing, but the choir, complete with a brass quintet, worked its tail off for two services. (I think the organ player was "juiced"... definitely "pumped".) We did get a nice pancake breakfast twixt the two services.

Notice she rarely looks directly at the camera and usually as far away from it as possible.

It's suddently spring here. I'm keeping my eye on my ditch to see if the asparagus is coming up yet. It's a bit early, I know, but it's one of my favorite parts of spring.

Another moist day in the NW, but temps are up to the 50s. We might have some drying mid-week. Aside from meeting our grandson yesterday I just played guitar, listened to audiobooks and snoozed. Oh, and I caught most of the Grammy Tribute to the Beach Boys. Good show. LeAnn Rimes - OMG is she great! Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

We will see the upper 90s today. I will be spending a good part of the day driving Miss Daisy. Oops, I mean Mr. H. He wants to hit Home Depot, Walmart, and a mall. Easter service was very nice. The choir had to be there over an hour early to rehearse with the band and rehearse separately with the bell choir. But it was all enjoyable. Dinner last night was just the 2 of us, a leg of lamb, and a bottle of wine. Repeat tonight, but with only a glass of wine.

Speaking of asparagus and yet nothing to do of it. I learned yesterday the Brussel Sprouts, Cauliflower and Kale are really all the same plant. They have been cultivated over a long time to enhance different traits of the same plant or naturally due to soil and conditions. Kale for large leaves, sprouts for the sprouts and cauliflower for the florets. I should have listened better but I don't like any of those so I only gave half attention which means I really learned nothing.

Wow. 70 degrees and sunshine*. Along with Van Morrison I made it through February and March again, and it was a tough one.

It’s 72 now, heading to 78. I’m up, drinking coffee. I’m a bit annoyed because Wordle too me five tries but Anita got it in three. Plans for the day include a swim in the pool for excercise, then maybe a trip to an easy hiking trail. We went grocery shiopping yesterday, food is crazy expensive here. Bread is 10-12 bucks a loaf, a dozen large AA eggs are 10 bucks, etc. but we will grill steaks tonight, with a salad , asparagus, baked potato. In spite of the high prices I reall like Kauai.

I'm jazzed. With the shop in order I'm multitasking again. Got a set up on the workbench, a bridge heating up on the layout bench to remove a warp and a cracked guitar on there too to dry. I'm tired but not overly so. Having some lunch and a bit of a rest then I'll head back down and finish that set up before nap time.
