Notice she rarely looks directly at the camera and usually as far away from it as possible.
Now that's arty, Marty.

For a morale boost and publicity stunt, Putin visits a Moscow elementary school
He talks to them about how Russia is a great and powerful country that is admired around the world. At the end of the talk, there is some time for questions.
Little Sasha puts her hand up and says "I have a question: why did we invade Crimea and Ukraine?"
Putin says "Good questions..." But just as he is about to answer, the bell goes, and the kids go for lunch.
When they come back, they sit back down and there is time for some more questions. So another girl puts her hand up and says, "I have three questions--why did the Russians invade Crimea and Ukraine, why did the bell go off 20 minutes early for lunch, and where is Sasha?"

Success at Home Depot and the mall, getting what we went for. Then on to Walmart, where the power went out a few minutes after we entered. We didn't even have anything in our cart yet. All customers got escorted out. Rather than drive to another Walmart, we decided that was it for our shopping today. Other businesses in the area did not seem to be affected by the outage.

Long day. The cold/flu that's been making its way through the PO claimed another sub and left me with three routes. But the weather couldn't have been nicer if it had been watching Mr Rogers.
Now here I sit in an easy chair at the end of the long day, Jack Williams on the player, enjoying tea and a windmill cookie or three.

Windmill cookies -- hadn't thought about them for eons, thanks for the memories! Here in the Melting Tundra, our first day of over 70 degrees in, what -- generations? -- has been marked by walkers switching overnight from hoodies and jeans to T-shirts and shorts, their alabaster legs blindingly brilliant in the suddenly powerful sunlight. Bikes on the street have tripled in number, the greyhounds have lost their sweaters and car windows are down and pumping out rambunctious summertime tunes. My bent-handle snow shovel has been positioned to the side of the front stoop all winter, its handle offering a helpful handrail effect for descending three steps, and it remains there, even while surrounded by a snowless landscape. I think I will leave it in place until I can arrange for proper handrails to be installed. My neighbors will think, "Ah, Bill is being a realist, smart guy."

We had company this afternoon--a former partner and her husband who came over for a beer after work. It was delightful to see them. I don't envy them the way they're still dealing with the legislature but they were eager to forget that. We had a blast as well as a couple of Shiners. I'm far from that world now and happily so.
They enjoyed our yard and realized what a rarity of our place has become. Flowers were blooming profusely.

Great week in Denver. On our way home via NE. If you are ever just west of Colfax and Colorado Blvd check out this place for an unbeatable 50’s Steakhouse vibe. You won’t be disappointed.

So…a quick recap of the day. Hour lap swim in the morning, man can I feel my shoulders from that. Breakfast at the condo, then over to koloarum.com/For a rum tasting. 👍 My oh my but the coconut flavored rum, chocolate flavored rum (from chocolate nibs grown on Kauai) and coffee flavored from Kauai grown cold brew were really really tasty. We are bringing some home to the mainland. Pour a little of the chocolate and coconut flavored over you favorite ice cream and it doesn’t matter what tthe Supreme Court decides. We also checked out Gaylord’s, a old school high end lunch and dinner place next to the rum place. We didn’t eat there but scoped out the menu, and decided to return in a day or two for lunch. Looks great. www.kilohanakauai.com/the-plantation-house-by-gaylordsAfter that we went to a farmers market behind the Costco in Lihue. Fabulous produce, we got some papayas and apple bananas, cilantro, carrots, and huge green onions. Unsure of what to do for dinner we got philipino food off a food truck and brought it back to the condo. Nita made us Mai Tais, and we devoured the spring rolls which were very good. Waiting on the pineapple chicken and rice. Mike

She buys a lottery ticket once a week, I tell her to quit scewing around and win the damn thing.
