Time flies. It was just 1968 a few days ago and now we are living in the Age of the Jetsons.
Get up and enjoy the day. It’s going to be 77 here today.

Get up and enjoy the day. It’s going to be 77 here today. Our forecast calls for a high of 78, so if you want real warmth, head north. The man on the radio says that April is International Guitar Month, so feel free to do something with that. My first task today was editing a longish piece in which our food critic ran down the best Indian restaurants in the Twin Cities, and now I am craving some of that stuff. Couple of young deer in my front yard, munching on the arbor vitae.

Wow. You may actually melt a few inches of snow! Yeh, 80s are forecast for tomorrow -- you can actually see around the corners when you drive now! Only north-facing lawns have any snow on them.

Sunny, high in the 70s. Mostly working in the back yard. Preparing for the distasteful task of grinding off paint and ancient carpet adhesive from the back porch. Long ago the original owner put down indoor/outdoor carpeting and was generous with the adhesive. Now that it has petrified, the only way to get it off is to grind it with a diamond disk in an angle grinder.

DaWife has the TV morning news on. Telling us how many people got shot or killed last night. They do that every morning. The NRA Convention is here in Indianapolis later this week. Indiana no longer requires a carry license so downtown Indy will be well armed. Though it's only a few miles from me, I don't often go downtown and won't this week.

Good morning. It should be a pleasant day in general but a bit hot at the peak of the day. That won't last long. I'll be off for a walk in a minute. Enjoy your day.

If the NRA Convention were in Milwaukee I would actually feel much safer spending time in the downtown area while they were here. We rarely go downtown. Take an Uber when we do to get in and out quickly. It’s not the legal gun owners that concern me, it is the THUGS with guns that do.

Morning. Might hit 50. Down to two feet of snow in the yard.
Oh, got a letter from KIA. They have come up with a free software fix for the "easy theft ignition system" (KIA's with steel keys and turn to start ignitions). After the fix, I will get a window sticker that says "this car has been fixed so don't try steal it or it will explode" (I will add that last part myself).

I find it very strange that states are reducing or eliminating licensing requirements for firearms. Wouldn't you want the disturbed people like in the TN and KY shootings to have to apply for a license and have to go through some waiting period/review, before they pick up the Weapons of Mass Destruction?

In Iowa we’re wondering how much flooding. The warmth of the north is going to send down to us. Do you still have melting snow up there in Minneapolis?

I do think elimination of permits has made it harder to identify illegal owners.

Oh, peachy. "Right now, the NWS predicts above-normal temperatures for May, June, and July." This isn't a surprise. The el nino-la nina cycle was supposed to flip this summer, bringing us hotter and drier weather. That doesn't make it any more welcome. We've booked ten days in Flagstaff for the end of July and the beginning of August. That time of year used to be reliably cool but this year, who knows?

Even in cool years, we average 100-110 for highs from May-September. So above normal is likely to be 110-120, and lows at night that don't fall below 100. Basically, it's too damn hot no matter what.

I like this time of year, when all the Northerners FINALLY stop bitching about winter so all the Southerners can start bitching about summer.

Good morning! We may hit 80 today, things are turning green. I checked my asparagus bed yesterday, no shoots visible, but it won't be long. Still a couple week till the morels appear.

Now I'm editing a story about a 9,000-square-foot house on a Lake Minnetonka peninsula, yours for only $14.75 million.
