One thing I love about Perry Masson is the noire aspect to it all. (They are single handedly keeping some trumpet player gamefully employed). And the lighting is very murky. I know for a historical architectural fact that offices in the 1930s were dark places. Most lighting came from the windows. Incandescent lighting was much more sparse. That plus the fact that everybody smoked (and the characters all do) leads to dingy shadowy interiors that are true to historical form, but also create a mysterious atmosphere.
I don't totally agree with Terry on Night Agent. Yes, it's formulaic, and the characters lean towards Hollywood tropes, but the performances are good enough and the plot twists are interesting enough that it keeps my interest. I've seen 6 of 8 episodes. And there's little doubt as to what the outcome will be, but it's holding my interest. Not as plastic as a James Bond movie, but close. Still I give it a mostly thumbs up for light entertainment.

As Marshall said, Bordertown is terrific.
I'd check it out but unfortunately, Luna and Sophie requires another subscription for UK viewers. I'll keep looking for a free option.
Night Agent adequate time killer I suppose.

Saw the end of Night Agent. Interesting, but predictable. And really very unbelievable that the whole thing could go down that way with the Secret Service and military getting hoodwinked like that.
Sort of James Bondish. And of course there’s a set up for future seasons.

There are pirates in their fetid galleons Daggers in their skivvies With infected tattooed fingers On a blunderbuss or two Signs of scurvy in their eyes And only mermaids on their minds It's from them I would expect to hear The F-word, not from you
We sit down to have a chat It's F-word this and F-word that I can't control how you young people Talk to one another But I don't wanna hear you use That F-word with your mother
And the lumberjacks from Kodiak Vacationing in Anchorage Enchanted with their pine tar soup (soap?) And Caribou shampoo With seven weeks of back pay In their aromatic woolens It's from them I would expect to hear The F-word, not from you

I thought Night Agent's Whitehouse chief of staff was a slightly unconvincing swearer. It was odd that she alone was particularly sweary.
