My Episcopal church (small congregation) is starting a youth music program to teach instrument playing. A guitar program is starting but we are in need of donations. The idea is that if a student sticks with it and continues to learn through our program, they can eventually earn their guitar.
Does anyone know of anyone/business donates guitars to similar things?
Thanks for any ideas. We have already been given one but are looking at options.
Thanks,
Dan

I'd start with local civic organizations. Kiwanis Club, Rotary, Lions Club, etc. I've asked them for things for students in the past, and it's always amazed me at how receptive they are to ideas, and how many are sitting on money they've love to use for a local cause.

Another idea might be posting the idea on the church's facebook page if they have one. You might get donations, and you also might be ideas from people on where to get donations.

I have a few dreadnoughts you can have. Repaired and nicely setup.

Dang, the Matin site says that it doesn't fund political or religious organizations.
Understandable.

Maybe the better way to go is to set up a Go Fund Me page to solicit funds to "buy" the guitars you'll need. Check with your local Guitar Center to get a sense of how much you'll need to raise by finding a good but inexpensive guitar. i.e. $150 for a guitar kit (incl. tuner, capo, case) Then set an appropriate goal amount for the funds.
