I should have caught him during the IRS tour. $12 at the Texas Club.

What is he? Ninety years old?
Yes. He turned 90 on Saturday. There was a big bash at the Hollywood Bowl with him and lots and lots of great songwriters and musicians.
$300 per ticket is kinda steep, innit?

I saw Jackson Browne open for Laura Nyro at the Fillmore East on December 22, 1970, for $4.50! Even in 2023 dollar value, that would be $35.01 today.
Tut tut.

Well, I saw the Jefferson airplane play in Central Park for free. So there.

How much would that be in 2023 dollars?
(I saw them, too. One of my friends yelled something mean and Marty Balin flipped him the bird.)

Good for Marty.
So you and I were in the same crowd. Heavy.

No, $155 per ticket. I was thinking I’d take Fiddlerina.

I'd pay it, Mark. At your age there aren't many of your elders still performing.

I saw him a couple years ago at Ravinia. Lawn seats. Probably $50. Sue’s friends wanted to go. Mediocre show. The opening act was his son. When Willy came on it was his son’s band backing Willy, including the son.
The wine and the food and the company was good.

Would that have been Lukas Nelson, Marshall?

Willie is 90. I would probably drop the money, have dinner somewhere, and then be able to say, “I saw Willie when he was 90. Cost $300 & his guitar leads were terrible, but, dinner was pretty damned good.” Something like that, anyway.

So no one wants to know why I think Kucas Nelson is correct? Oh well.

Dub, I think you should go. A few years ago Merle Haggard came to Milwaukee. I wanted to go. I ultimately decided to not go because he was playing on a Wednesday evening and I couldn’t get the next day off work. I started work at 6:00am so I thought it best to not be out late into the evening the night before. I thought I’ll just see Merle another time. Merle passed away not long after. I never got to hear him play and and I am still regretting it almost ten years later.
Plus an evening out with your lovely wife with Willie crooning his new tune, “I’ll Love You Till the Day I Die.” What could possibly be nicer?

Yeah, but he needs extra money for his stash!
