One of your lesser known major holidays. But, a holiday nevertheless. Take the day off.

I'm up at least two hours early as Charlene is hopping on a bus with a bunch of other Grand Forks Quilting Club ladies and heading up to Winnipeg to hobnob with a bunch of Winnipegian quilters, and I am taking her to the bus.

I've had a moment of silence in honor of Norwegian trombones. It was moving.
Morning, y'all. Don't get in any trouble.

Good morning from a drizzly overcast Wisconsin. Great track meet last night. First event was the girls 4 x 800, Granddaughter ran in second position. They turned in the 2nd fastest 4 x 800 ran so far this year in Wisconsin. Daughter and I will be heading to the Koffee Kup for breakfast shortly.

Norwegian trombones. It kind of rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it? Barb bought some nice looking oranges. I reached for one but she said, no, those are for the orioles. Enjoy yourselves today.

Good morning. 54F-66F cloudy, rain. Long Doctor's visit yesterday. They took lots of blood out of me, put other stuff in me and now I have two sore shoulders. But he didn't do anything that requires rubber gloves. All in all he says I'm doing fine and just might make it another week or two. Saturday shop and I will have people coming by but not with guitars. Some of my regulars I've invited to inspect the shop. It's not fully done but probably will never be because it needs to change according to what I'm doing at any given time. I'm trying to make each area a multi-tasker. My main bench is used for setup, fretting and general repair but I now have another bench for putting glue ups on to dry, heat pressing for bridge removal or straightening classical necks and using the ToneRite. DaWife is not happy. She wants to watch her normal Saturday morning shows but they got this weird ceremony from Westminster Abby going on every channel. The Abby is so full of people singing and bands playing there's not even room to fart. Outside tons of people are cheering and banging pots and pans at some guy in a stagecoach that looks like it was designed by Liberace. And to top it all off they keep playing *My Country tis of Thee. Not *God Bless America. Nobody here corrected me.

We have been packing up our kitchen and dining area for the last week—our long-awaited kitchen renovation (four years since inception, stalled by the Coop Board and the pandemic) begins on Tuesday. This week they will be doing the demolition. And yes, we will be living in the apartment through it all. The contractors predict at least 40 work days for the work to be finished. Hoo boy.
Busy schedule today. Have a good one, everybody.

Played at The Little Theater Auditorium in New London last night. Cool place with an art deco-style bar and fancy cocktails.

Marking the birthday of my late first-born dottir, Erica Jeanne. She was such a wonderful person, beloved by all, it would seem. Hard to believe she would be 39 today, deep sigh. Miss you, honey.
Not much on the agenda today -- some grocery shopping, some housework, perhaps some cooking. Plus possible mini road trip to horsie country west of Stillwater, just to exercise the motorcar.

Busy schedule today. Have a good one, everybody. Be prepared for a layer of dust on everything in the apartment. Yes, I know they will hang plastic barriers but, having been through this, I strongly suggest you cover electronic devices. The dust gets through the barriers because the workers go through them. They also drag things in and out. A lot depends on whether they will tear out walls or not. Our kitchen was gutted to the studs. Also, keep your fingers crossed they don’t find asbestos and lead based paint. The lead based paint is almost a given. We survived 3 months with no kitchen and then several days of heavy cleaning. Area rugs had to be sent out. Ugh! I hope to never go through that again. We were younger. Today it would probably put us in the hospital. Our old house was built in 1929 so renovations were always an adventure. It will all be worth it when it’s done.

Blessings to you and your extended family, Bill; including Erica's mother, sisters, and nieces and/or nephews. If I were any miles closer I'd give you a big hug whether you wanted one from me or not. Then treat you to a meal where you would have plenty of leftovers. Perhaps even some wine that is a woman's name that I always forget.

Four this week, and five subsequently. They are also doing some work in another apartment in the building, so they will be around.
Also, not sure they will be tearing out the walls, but this building was finished in 1939, so there is undoubtedly lead paint under the latex paint.

Does the Coop board also have rights of refusal of whom you sell to? Good luck.
