Did any of you see this PBS American Masters episode? It aired this month and Fiddlerina and I watched it last night.
Highly recommended, especially for those with an interest in 1950s and ‘60s music.
As appropriate for Pride Month, it also deals with his sexuality and the difficulty of being prominently gay at that time. Mix that with his southern fundamentalist religion and the way he was treated by the industry and you have a fascinating, gut-wrenching look into the life of one of the truly great innovators.

The only things about the program that were weird were two or three clips of Pat Boone seated behind a giant desk like he was the President or something offering a few strange, out of place, comments about his own recordings of Little Richard’s songs. I had to laugh out loud. Boone, of course, had no idea how embarrassing he sounded.

I'd like to see this. LR had a big influence on the Beatles, of course, especially Paul, as noted in his/their frequent falsetto "Whoo" instances.
I must say, the title of the episode seems a little snarky to me.

He was such a groundbreaker in his day. This video speaks volumes. Wasn't that Bill Haley with the spit curl?
The Beatles did cover this song, too, Paul singing lead.

I must say, the title of the episode seems a little snarky to me. That’s actually from a claim LR made about himself.

I just finished streaming it on PBS. Quite a show and, yes, Pat Boone’s segment was kind of strange. It was interesting to see how Boone viewed the music as something he could make more money than Richard with while Keith Richards and Ringo Starr spoke of it and Little Richard with such awe and admiration.
