I spent the past couple days in the Chicago suburbs and the air quality was dismal. No one was outside, everyone was inside. So I was surprised to head home this morning to note the the furth west I traveled, the hazier things looked. Iowa looked awful from the minute I crossed the Mississippi until the time I got home. It's nasty out there.

It has been very smoky here all day. Last night I went out to look at the moon and it was red.
We were in Crete today & the smoke was even worse there.
