It is
I’m sitting on the patio waiting for 7 yards of mulch to be delivered. Going up to 90 today. Storms coming by around 4:00. Gotta get the mulch placed before then. Wheelbarrow and shovel ready.
Boo Yah !

Wow! You bought enough for your yard and 6 lucky neighbors. You’re a good man.

Wow! You bought enough for your yard and 6 lucky neighbors. You’re a good man. I could cover both front and back lawns with that much. What a great idea! Pull out all the grass, lay down enough weed killer to ruin every garden for a block in any direction, cover it with black tarp and mulch then ignore it all forever.

As master Marty always says, “Get the right tool for the job.”
So I ditched my old single wheel inflated tire wheel barrow (with a flat tire), and bought a Gorilla 2 wheel cart with solid rubber wheels. And a mondo aluminum material handling shovel. The new tools worked great. I shoveled and transported a ton of mulch in 4 hours time. Gatorade and power bars were consumed. Much ice water too.
It all still needs to be raked out even, but that’s a job for another day. I took a nice bath and am enjoying a ham samidge in the air conditioned inner sanctum.
Phew! It can rain now whenever it wants.

I will bet you $4 that you could not get even 1/2 ton of mulch spread in my yard in four hours.

Actually more. 7 cu yds is 63 cu ft. If mulch weighs about 60 lb/cu ft, that’d be 3,800 lb or close to 2 ton.
You owe me $4.00
Of course it’s not raked out and spread yet. It’s sitting in nice wheelbarrow sized piles around the yard. Another 4 hours should get it raked out. I didn’t have it in me to do all that yesterday.

I'm pretty sure David wanted you to actually spread the mulch at his place, and he was offering you $4 in a Tom Sawyer-like twiat to get you to do it.

Oops again. There are 27 cu ft in a cu yd. So 27x7x 60 is 11,370 # or close to 6 tons.
Sorry for the sloppy math.

I don’t know anything about your mulch, but Timberline Red mulch weighs 19lb per cubic foot. Is your mulch three time heavier? www.maxwarehouse.com/products/timberline-red-mulch-2-cu-ft

I was guessing. Soil runs 100# or more. Concrete is 150#.
45 years ago I ordered 9 yds of top soil and wheelbarrowed it around on a 95 degree day in July while Sue took the kids to the public pool. I got light headed and had to sit down.
Yeah this was lighter. So, at 20# I’m back to 2 tons.

Ok. Lovely day. 75 out. I decided to move some of the piles around. I had put too much in the front. So I spent 3 hrs moving about 15% of the material from the front yard to the back. ( I’m not going to estimate the weight just so you f’ing woke liberal fact checkers can rain on my parade.)
The front looks pretty good now. Still have spreading to do in the back. But that will be for another day.
Going outta town tomorrow.
