I had to laugh, and she will laugh when I tell her someone said that, but no. She's a breast cancer survivor who has dedicated herself to helping others who are going through cancer. Her husband is driving the pink firetruck. They are great people, she and Kim were good friends and obviously had a lot in common.

Oh, don't Bill. There is no need for that. I can let you know how things go next time I run into her and call her Officer Barbie. It was a funny comment, and I promise she will laugh.

Love small town parades. The only entrance requirement is to show up.

Well now I feel embarrassed as that had to be at least 10 minutes long but I expected the Sherriff, Fire Dept. and the Library ladies because Garrison has them. I didn't expect the VFW guys, drunk Shriners maybe cuz a parade is a reason to drink. I'm sure a good time was had by all.

The shortest parade we ever saw was the Memorial Day parade in Galena, IL many years ago. It consisted about 9 veterans marching, maybe 3-4 cars, kids on bikes, and, as I recall one float that advertised a business. It lasted maybe 15 minutes start to finish and that’s only because the vets were old and marched slowly. We kept looking down the street expecting more, but that was it. People still cheered. I love Galena.

We'll have to remember to have a little birthday celebration when some of us gather there in Sept. Maybe we could get Garrison a birthday cake.

That would be fun to have on the table during intermission.

I only see four spectators. Was the rest of the town in the parade?

Actually some of us talked about that this morning. Half the town was in the parade, half were watching.
