I changed strings on both Faridas today. I have SO many sets of EXP17s around, that's what got put on. Oh. My. The sound of these two guitars is amazing. It's fun to have brand new strings of the same kind on each to see what the real difference in sound it. The OT-22 is more focused. The J45 copy is full sounding (probably the sound of the two I still prefer slightly ). I realize that if you took two objects of equal weight, if one was larger, the smaller one would seem heavier. And that's the case with these two. The J45 feels like a light old vintage guitar, while the smaller one feels like it's heavier than the bigger one.

13 to 56s. Probably sound strong. I’m a 12-52 guy (elixirs) except for my GS Mini which I use 13s ‘cause of the extra short scale. I played that in my recent song video. It has an earthy, almost ladder braced sound to it. Plus I’m going on vacation next week so the “travel guitar” is the guitar of choice at the moment.
Love your guitars.

I’d always been a mediums or go home guy. I’ve run in to two larger guitars this year that just flat sound better with lights. So, keep an open mind cuz you never know.

I’ve been running Martin Retro Monel MM12s on my D-28CW for a while and really like them. I compensate for the loss in volume with my (née Marshall’s) ToneDexter. Great tone and easier to do the thumbstyle stuff.

I mostly use mediums but I use True Mediums on two guitars and lights on one. Oh, the electrics all use 10-46s except I have 11-50s on the SG. Lot of damned strings.

The red ones were a limited thing when they were promoing there slinky strings. They were free with a set of strings. Some guy stripped them out and sold them for $5 each. I’ve still got 3 or 4 I think. I like them because they are “different.” Same as the black ones, just more colorful.

I didn’t get them with strings as I recall. Anyway, I gave some away and kept a couple which may still be around here somewhere.
