Yesterday afternoon I noticed a chunk of one of my molars had broken off. I called my dentist.
"Which tooth?" they asked.
I told them.
A little bit later, the office called back. "The molar in question is one of your older crowns. If you can come in tomorrow at either 10:30 or 11:00, we can get you in and take care of it."
I went in at 10:30. They popped off the old crown, did a little grinding, stuck a miniature camera in my mouth which sent the information to a computer which then sent information to CERAC machine which used the 3D scans the computer had just sent it to whittle out a new crown for me while I was watching Wheel of Fortune reclined comfortably in my dental chair. I was out the door just a tisch after noon with my new crown happily ensconced.
While some things are getting worser and worser, other things are getting better and better. My teeth are on the better and better side of the fence. (along with the rest of me, truth be told)
