For some people, a real hump day.
Have a good time getting through it, friends. And stay cool!

Another scorcher on tap for today. 91 degrees at Sunrise today. As is currently predicted, the entire month of July except maybe for the last day will have had highs over 110. Today will be no exception. I really feel for the people who have to work (or live) outdoors in this heat.

Hot and humid this morning.
RAGBRAI report. The bikers made it to Ames yesterday, an 86 mile ride, and when they got to Ames, my SIL's brother tapped out. He is having bike and tire problems and will have someone pick him up and take him home.
My SIL will soldier on alone (with 40,000 other rider). He was up, packed and ready to hit the road at 5:30 this morning. He's running with the hammer down and enroute reports say he should reach today's destination, Des Moines, by 10:00 am. Music today in Des includes Lynyrd Skynyrd and Johnny Van Zant.
My excitement for the day will be to take a leaking trailer tire to Vinton to be repaired.

Good morning.
68F-91F mostly cloudy, we'll see.
Storm rolled through last night with rain and lots of noise. The humidity will probably be way up today so I think we are going to have to start using the AC. Errands to do this morning before it gets too hot and humid.

I’m up. Off to Kaiser for labs today, and that’s about it. Got chicken thighs in the fridge with Plowboys Yardbird rub on them for grilling later, highly recommend this treatment. All this and a bike ride too, and that’s the day.

Off today. So far I've cleaned out gutters, trimmed dog's nails, taken the Jeep BACK to the shop (I fear the worst. It started running very rough yesterday and stalls or bucks if I accelerate too fast), Put 8 new 8' florescent bulbs in the shop ceiling fixtures, had fried egg sandwiches, and played a little on the OT-22. I'm hoping to restring the LG2 and maybe get side by side photos with the OT-22.

Thunderstormy
Moving stuff around for daughter and granddaughter to move in. I am temporarily losing my home office/music room/reading room. My workshop will be my only solo space in the house, and there are limits to how and when I can make noise.

Grampa and Sonny. Maybe if you live as long as I have, and have played as many songs, you'll sound half as good as me. And that would still be very, very good

I thought I posted earlier, but apparently not. You didn’t miss much. Diane and I went for a very pleasant hike this morning in an area where we’ve never been. There was a small waterfall and a lot of interesting rock formations. I’m not in great shape for hiking, but I made it through. According to the weather, radar, we will probably get heavy monsoon storms in the next couple of hours. I’m glad. They’re exciting.

I see that Sinead O'Connor has died at age 56. Sounds like suicide, but that wasn't specified. She was bipolar and open about her mental illness, lost a son to suicide years ago.

Of eight offices on my floor of the office building, I am the only person present. Perhaps the others knew that they would need to endure the sound of f-ing gas-powered leaf blowers and hedge trimmers. Damn, I hate those things. It is topping off my horrible lunch - a take-out, $10 gyro sandwich. Bad, expensive food and grating noise!
But I am about done, having billed a few hours. The day is going to improve with a planned visit to see my grandson this afternoon and delivering a couple of pounds of smoked brisket to his parents.

This year I got an electric hedge trimmer that works fine and isn’t very loud. I wish the whole world used those. I also got an electric string trimmer but I haven’t assembled it yet. I’m not good at assembling things, and it requires some assembly.

Pardon my mischaracterization of when her son's death occurred. The early account I read was quite imprecise.
