Kari did some nice albums with Dakota Dave Hull 20+ year ago, playing vintage Nationals on occasion. I can't find any of their songs on YT, but I have them on my computer. I'll see if I can figure out how to share some. I think Russell may have met her or knew her at one point? dakotadavehull.com/hull-larson-bio/Oh, there is an album of theirs on YT, "Double Cappucino." All in one shot (no pun intended). I have the album "Moonbeams."

It took me a few minutes to place her, but we've heard her play. She and Dakota Dave sat in with Cam Waters in a wonderful show years back.

Kari was also one of the Luthiers at Charlie Hoffman's shop for many years. Charlie built guitars and He had all the tooling needed at hand and plenty of extra space so rented out shop space to others.

I reviewed two of Dave & Kari's three albums for Acoustic Guitar--"Double Cappuccino" and "Moonbeams"--and went to see them every chance I got. My favorite was a show at SCSU's small, chamber-music auditorium where they set up at the edge of the stage and played without any amplification. (In PA environments, Dave would set out a pair of studio-grade mikes.) And one memorable day, I was the only person who signed up for a workshop they gave at the Homestead Pickin' Parlor, so it was just me and them and three Epiphone archtops for an afternoon. Dave was his usual gruff self*, but Kari was a sweetheart. And they both played their asses off.
* I handed him my Epi to try out. He played a bit, then handed it back. "Mine's better," he said.

Side excursion: While checking up on Dave's current projects (which include an album of 6-string banjo material), I came across a link to what might have been a pirate compilation of Hull & Blackburn LPs:
The credits list a who's-who of 1970s Minnesota players backing Dave and Sean--Butch Thompson, Peter Ostroushko, Molly Mason, James Mason, and Mike Cass. Also striking is how many of them are gone now. But then, it's been more than 40 years.
Sean was my one of my first swing-guitar teachers and a hell of a performer--guitar picker, singer, comedian, and rope-trickist.
