Good morning. I guess Howard is sleeping late. It’s a clear and cool morning in Flagstaff. We will be off to Sunset Crater before too long. I got Wordle in two, but I can’t figure out how to paste the score. Enjoy your day.

Good morning. I guess Howard is sleeping late. [...]
Yes, indeed. Then mowed my face and took a leisurely shower. Now for some coffee and breakfast—snagged some fresh blueberries at the green market yesterday.
Currently a beautiful 69°F in Brooklyn, with 66% humidity. High of 82°. A guy could get used to this.
Have a pleasant Sunday, all.

Sounds like my weather is the same as Howard's, which is beautiful.
SIL, RAGBRAI rider, will be here in about an hour to retrieve his truck, and then head back home to Wisconsin.
Sometime after he leaves, I'll be heading to the cabin. I plan to try out my new Milwaukee Firestorm, batter powered pruning chain saw. It should be easy to get my campfire wood ready now!
Pizza tonight (and probably for breakfast tomorrow, from the Pizza Place. Back home tomorrow afternoon.

Pleasant summer day ahead, to be spent with granddaughters whilst DIL works and son recovers from moving his sister's earthly possessions, most of which are residing in a storage unit.
Noticed our neighbors son and DIL stopping by yesterday, later noticed a banner in their front window proclaiming "You Did It!!!" meaning Jim completed RAGBRAI, presumably with the ceremonial dipping of the front tire in the Mississippi.

Good morning
60F-81F sunny.
Sunday stuff and maybe some afternoon shop to do a setup. The guitar is just a single pickup Strat type assembled from Mighty Mite parts by Chuck Orr, pretty ho hum guitar. But it has a Tiger Industries vibrato mounted in it and that is something rare and special. I worked with and studied under Orr for guitar making. I also knew Joe Nicholles of Tiger Ind. and his many inventions for electric guitars.
I am being told to get moving, more on Tiger Ind later.

A lazy day, until dinner. Elderdottir bought us a gift card for a very spendy restaurant in Vancouver, Anna Lena. Michelin 1 star. Never been to a Michelin restaurant before, so looking forward to this.
Hand problems are no better. X-ray showed no joint damage, at least, nothing new. Have an appointment with a hand physiotherapist in a couple of weeks. It does truly suck to not be able to play guitar. Will be mucking with Geoshred, a very cool iPad synth that I’ve had for a few years, has the most intuitive surface keyboard I’ve seen yet, in particular for guitar players.

Mid-Morning to youse all!
A beautiful day! Sunny, clear, 70F on its way to 80 by mid-day, and then another evening cool off.
I'm in full pole bean production, so it's BLTs for lunch and something with pole beans in it for supper. Combining that with all day snacking on cherries (which are really, really good this year), and I'm moving the freight like UPS, so to speak.

So I liked this post for everything but the hand thingy. I'll go back and dislike for that. Things like GeoShred are why I might get an iPad. I like messing around with Animoog Z, but it's kind of a pain on an iPhone. From what I saw, Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater is connected with the company. I don't know how much I like his music, but he is a very good guitar and synth player, and is usually on the cutting edge of tech and music. He has a synth like mine (Hydrasynth) and has done some great demos for the Osmose (which I'd like to get).

Up. Slept in till 8. Weird for me, but I was up late last night messing about with the guitar. Going to see a play today, the six wives of Henry VIII, a musical. Sounds weird to me too.

He has a synth like mine (Hydrasynth) and has done some great demos for the Osmose (which I'd like to get). Yes, it’s Jordan. I believe he came up with the concept for the keyboard, which is brilliant. You can set it up any way you like, but by default it’s done in fourths, like guitar, so it makes sense. You can play east-west or north-south on it if you’re doing runs. It’s polyphonic. You can also set up what key it shows, so all the notes are there, but it highlights the ones that are in the key, and the root is a different color. I have three of the animoog synths, and the keyboard is cool, but too small. With geoshred, you get the entire surface. With each of the built in patches, you can also add virtual pedals, theres a slider for bending notes, and this odd little control that does a few other interesting things. What’s very cool is there are a bunch of other patches you can buy, that are some of the best sounding acoustic instruments I’ve heard — the cello, the violin, the oboe and flute, the acoustic bass are amazing. What’s also interesting is that a ton of South Asian musicians have taken it up, so there are patches for an incredible selection of classical Indian instruments as well. The fact that you can slide between notes so easily seems to suit them, and they have made some cool music. And lastly, it works quite well on my iPhone as well, because it makes such good use of the entire surface for the keyboard.

The original (Broadway) Jane Seymour did a solo caberet performance in our town last year; she was amazing. We will probably be seeing it this year when it goes through Cincinnati.

Dottir and Babzi and I had a terrific brunch at Holman's Table, which Dottir had not visited previously, and the weather was perfect for our patio seating. A few bizjet takeoffs punctuated the sonic palette. Babs and I had veggie omelets (w/ sweet corn, yay) and fresh fruit, Dottir had mushroom toast and eggs, all excellent.
Then we made a stop at Morelli's Market to pick up some goodies to give to the friends who are feeding us tonight at their Roseville home (steak!) and housing Dottir tonight and tomoro night. Dropped Barb back at her place and motored to a south Mpls yarn shop that Dottir is wild about, an incredibly funky place housed in a very old firehouse.
I'm back home for a bit; Dottir is at Ann and Mike's and I will join them shortly for our repast and fellowship.
