Well, good-bye to another July. I became a copy editor because a nine-pound hammer is a little too heavy for my size. Here's a little TR and the Bluegrass All Stars.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning. It is supposed to be a rainy and stormy day. Our outing will be to Wupatki national Monument, which is lower and dryer than the other options. We’ve been there often but it’s worth a repeat visit. Wordle in five. Nothing else to report.

Bachelors Log Day 1: Today I moved a 50 watt guitar amp in to the living room and those teal colored "pretty" Duluth Trading underwear my wife got me for my birthday found themselves in the trash can. The horses await. Alas.

I forgot to mention that yesterday, my wife was talking to a friend in Phoenix on the phone when I heard her say, oh my god, there’s an elk out back. I put the telephoto lens on the camera before I did anything else. Then I went around the cabin to look and sure enough, there was a big bull with velvet antlers. He was moving away by then, and I got several photos of elk rump. Eventually, I got a couple of shots with his face in them.

Good morning
64F-83F mostly cloudy
Couple things to finish up in the shop and then maybe a trip to Harbor Freight. Have a project in mind that I would normally use a router and template but don't want to make a template. I'll just buy a jigsaw and cut the project time in half.

I'm making a big chicken, veg and borlotti bean casserole today. Short on herbs. I wonder if tarragon would work. Sonke Meinen did a tune. Wordle took me quite a while. Wordle 773 4/6*

Beautiful morning here. Looks like I might have dodged a bullet with my boat problem. A half hour after talking to the mechanic at the marina, I was back at the cabin drinking coffee when I heard noises from the dock/boat lift area. I looked out side just in time to see the mechanic drive away with my boat.
A half hour later the mechanic called and asked if I was still at the cabin. He said he was bringing the boat back and would give me the key if I was around.
Boat back, he said it was a defective spark plug, misfiring under load. A 1 mile, full throttle, test run seemed to show he was correct.
Oh ya, music practice this afternoon.

Pleasant, slightly cloudy summer day.
Dealing with the aftermath of daughter's move, including organizing storage units and getting her stuff out of my workshop.

Up, coffee with old farts day. High of 84. We haven’t had measurable rain for 43 days. Which is pretty much a disaster for fire season. Still, it hasn’t vpbeen too bad, but we have a ways to go. Heading out camping next weekend to the S OR coast, where hopefully the smoke from local fires won’t be too bad.

I finally put in the effort to try out my new-to-me Zoom H4n recorder on a guitar instrumental. It sounds great when played back through the device.
I now need to learn about applying reverb and compression. Josh Turner has a nice instructional video that might help.

[/div][/quote] That’s wonderful. I always thought it was odd that the Irish would have a tune named for a place in the U.S., then I learned there’s been a large Irish population in New Orleans for a very long time and there is some old Irish music that’s come out of that community.

Bittersweet day for me -- Elderdottir and I had a chatty, happy lunch at Stout's Pub, ordering Reubens in honor of Pee-wee Herman, BUT THEN I HAD TO TAKE HER TO THE AIRPORT (sniff)! And now I'm all alone, as usual. Sigh.

And now I'm all alone, as usual. Sigh. Well I know you won't have a cat, that's one of the reasons my place is uncomfortable for you, my boys shed like crazy. Musty old basement is hard on you too. But you could get a Peacock Mantis Shrimp to keep you company.

I'm making a big chicken, veg and borlotti bean casserole today. I'm always looking for a bean recipe. No borlotti beans around here but after reading it seems that mayocoba beans would work nicely. I'll be trying someting along those lines. Thanks!
