Yes, it's payday at that old institution — and I mean it when I write institution — where I have my soul and will to live (WTL, they love acronyms there) crushed every day.
For all working fools like me, we're halfway there! Have a pleasant day.

When most bands of the era were rocking, they were definitely swinging!

Good morning. This morning we will pack up and head back to Phoenix. Even though it will be hot there, you can only spend so much time relaxing, and vacating, so I’m ready. Have an enjoyable day.
PS: Wordle in four.

Wow! If a job is crushing your soul & will to live, they are hiring at the #1 BOP shop** at Gary Works. It might be a refreshing change of pace. Nothing like working with molten pig iron to get the day rolling! 😀 No payday here. Just another sweet day of retirement. Hot weather is making its return. Enjoy what you can. **where carbon is removed from molten iron by injecting pure oxygen to produce steel. It pays well but it ain’t fun. Of course, in the mill working with anything molten is cool.

Good morning.
Crops look good. Best looking beans I have ever seen up on the farm (or anywhere around the farm). They look like Iowa beans!

Back to hot and humid here after a respite. Elderdottir made it home safely after enduring nearly an hour in line for security screening at MSP. Facing my usual heavy Wednesday workload, though we moved a lot of copy yesterday, so maybe it will be OK.
Beloved first-born Erica died on this date in 1990 at age 6. Hug your kids.

Good morning.
68F-90F partly cloudy
Shop time this morning and errands this afternoon.
Doc's finally got moving on my inner ear/vertigo problems with lots of tests yesterday and I will start physical therapy tomorrow and see if that helps. I'm on my feet but I can't turn too quickly or I'll go off balance.

Morning, another summer day. High around 90. Early bike ride before it gets too hot. The lawn is still growing. Need to drag the trailer out of the garage and sanitize the water system. A job for tommorrow maybe.

I'm on my feet but I can't turn too quickly or I'll go off balance. I had a severe bout of vertigo about 10 years ago. I went to a specialist in Chicago at Chicago Dizziness and Hearing, which is part of Northwestern Hospital, and, after doing head movement exercises, the crystals in the inner ear that had migrated to the wrong place, shuffled back where they belonged and the vertigo was gone. Poof! If I get a mild reoccurrence, which I have a couple of times, doing the exercises takes care of it pretty quickly Vertigo is awful. It’s much worse that just getting dizzy. Good luck, Marty. I hope they can cure you & get you back to normal quickly. I am sorry it is a sad anniversary, Bill. I wish there was more I could say.

Bachelor's Log Day 2: There are now multiple guitar cases on the kitchen countertops. There seems to be more dishes in the sink than usual.

A sad anniversary, Bill. Hug your kids and other loved ones today.
Another 88f day is expected. I will spend most of the daylight hours in an AC'd room, hopefully with some guitar playing.

Sorry Bill.
I'm just back home from a 26 mile bike ride. It's not too hot out, but it is very humid, and there is a pretty brisk breeze blowing out of the south. The first half of my ride was into the wind. Wind resistance increases at the square of the speed, so to conserve energy, I slow down going into the wind. Going back north, with the wind, was fun.
I hate to bring up guitars, but the jack on my Gretch bass is very loose. Loose meaning it feels like the cable might just fall out, when I plug it in. Gotta take a look inside and see if there is an easy, safe fix.

Good morning. Crops look good. Best looking beans I have ever seen up on the farm (or anywhere around the farm). They look like Iowa beans! Even with the early drought, the fields around here look great. It was a jeep. Now it's a ford. Found On Road Dead. This has been my past week of bad luck. First the jeep had a cracked coolant reservoir. I was able to fill it and drive it to the shop. They replaced it.... and a hose was frayed, leaked, and that was my first tow in. Repaired again, I made it to my route the next day and the new hose was faulty. Second tow in. Repaired, I made it to my route only to have the main hose rupture. Third tow in. Meanwhile, I used USPS vehicles. The first one the wheel nearly came off. The second one the entire ignition/key came out of the steering column. The third was the Mercedes Metris that I drove back into the office with the splash shield dragging the pavement. Yesterday I got to my route with the new main hose. It overheated and died. Fourth tow in. In happier news, I am off today. I wasted the morning doing stuff with IceSha. This afternoon I'm going to try the OT-22 plugged in for fun. This photo was shared on facebook today. It was taken in front of Wooden Music (Jim Shenk's shop) 20 years ago (coincidentally -- because it Marty just mentioned it in another thread -- the hat is a Hoffman Guitars hat).

I'm certainly not the only bereaved parent on this forum, and as the years have gone by, it gets easier and it's possible to focus on the insights gained from the experience rather than the pain. I just feel that I owe it to her to note the date, for some reason.

I posted this photo on Sunday. I was loading my LLV for a day's Amazon delivery when I saw a familiar face on the big box. By "familiar" I mean in the sense of having been around the breed for more than 40 years now. Little did I know, though, just how familiar this very face is. It's IceSha's mom. After I posted it, IceSha's breeder texted me that IceSha's mom had done a little modeling for Husky. They were paid for use of the dog, but didn't even know if they'd used any of the images.
