Good morning. We're creeping up on sunrise. It's amazing what the brain can do in the background. I've been working on a few poems that were good but not quite right. I'd turned my attention to other projects. Then this morning I woke up and the solutions to the poems dictated themselves. Maybe poems and songs have to be left to age in a quiet place. Of course, the world still doesn't have the slightest interest in them. Enjoy your day. Wordle 782 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜⬜🟨🟨⬜ 🟩⬜⬜⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Foggy, hazy, humid. Today’s weather in a nutshell. At least the coffee is good.

The only good coffee is a dead coffee.
Tea's pretty good, though.

Pleasant, slightly hazy summer day.
Getting used to daughter and granddaughter living with us, with the changes in space - both physical space and head space.
Back to staining the shed. Slopping stain on the siding is easy; staining the eaves and fascia boards is tedious and messy.

Good morning.
Maui is on fire. Looks like the death toll in Lahaina is 50 and climbing. Dang!

Good morning all. Second cup of coffee is now down and the eyes are remaining open. Nothing on the agenda for today.
Yesterday was a pricey day for home services. We had our lawn cleaned and deodorized, and we had to have our washing machine disassembled to remove a wayward sock from the water pump filter. There is actually a way for it to happen in front loaders. Could of been worse though, no faulty parts.

Morning.
I'm looking at what appears to at least a nine-foot tall sunflower in the park's garden across the street. Don't know how I missed it till now. But, it opened up today and the yellow-rayed head is huge. Looks like there are a couple more that will be opening up pretty quick. Usually they have Cannas in the background and I just thought the tall green this year was the same. But, no. Exciting stuff!

Power washed my deck and patio this morning. Haven’t used my power washer since I bought CASE. I like that thing. It really does the job. Picked 25 picture perfect red tomatoes from my garden. Not sure what to do with all of them. A nice problem though.
Have a lovely day, everyone.

Good morning
63F-79F mostly sunny.
Should be a beautiful day but I don't think I have any good excuses to go anywhere. Except our old drive-in burger joint has reopened and maybe we will go park in their big tree shaded lot and have some ice cream or gelato, maybe some cheese curds.
Until then I have laundry and shop duties.

Good afternoon. I just finished my breakfast of a pepper bacon, boursin cheese, egg wrap. Washed down with OJ.
Breakfast was late because I did a 27 mile bike ride this morning. Bike ride was long, time wise, because I got into a BS session at one of the rest stops.

A busy week so far after getting back from San Diego on Sunday. On Monday I saw my ophthalmologist. Tuesday was the retinal specialist. Wednesday was the orthodontist. At least that one was already scheduled and not an emergency. We stopped at Costco on the way home and loaded up on food. Today I have nothing, but Mr. H just left to have a wisdom tooth pulled. He has done more driving this week than he normally does in a month, hauling me around instead of me driving him. My vision is slightly better since the injection on Tuesday, but I doubt that it will go back to normal. Mr. H can't drive at night. Old age is an adventure.
Kind of glad that tonight's choir practice was cancelled due to lack of interest. Not really lack of interest, but too many people unable to be there. There are only about a dozen of us to begin with and this is the time of year when people in Tucson escape to cooler places.

Dar fixed cornbread and red beans and rice. One of my favorite ways to eat. Her cornbread is the kind that's like cake -- a little sweet and raised (not flat). It's not a bad stand-in for dessert.
Tonight my supervisor locked three of us (himself included) out of the office. We were all standing on the dock, each trying our hand at the combination lock. Apparently the postmaster had a locksmith in today and changed the combination but forgot to tell anyone what the new combination was. Fortunately, my keys were in my jeep. Unfortunately, my phone remains at the office 'til tomorrow.

A side note to the three of us postal employees out on the dock trying the combination to open the door:
Last week we had a vehicle break down on a route. Bob, our supervisor, was the only one in the office, so he had to lock it all up before leaving to take a new vehicle to the broken down carrier. When he did, he texted everyone to remember the combination 3,5,2 (not the real combination) in case you return to the PO before he got back.
When Bob got back to the office there was our newest sub waiting on the dock. He said he'd been there for nearly ten minutes. Bob said "I texted you the combination. Didn't you get it?" The sub said that, yes, he did get the text. He couldn't figure out how the combination --3,5,2-- worked.
The combination dial is in Roman Numerals.

I love Cornbread Nation. It’s the only song I can think of that has a recipe in the lyrics.
