Yeah, the cherries are good. We had some with dinner (salmon, rice pilaf). But the blueberries with lunch were too tart to eat. Diane was making a dinner to take to a lady in the church who's ill. She got raspberries to go with it and 50 percent of them were bad. You almost have to go to a farmer's market to find good stuff. Grumble, grumble. blueberries here have been excellent. We’re surrounded by blueberry farms, and it’s generally a solid crop, but this year has been particularly fine. We have several pounds frozen.

Cherries from Washington State have been good lately. Grapes from I don't know where have also had flavor. It’s now cherry season here as well, they grow alongside the peaches, and they are also excellent. Best when eaten right off the tree, warm with the sun. So good.

Local berries are always better. We had a bumper crop of blackberries in the back yard a couple of months back and they were scrumptious. Most got pureed and frozen for Diane to make jam out of.

Peaches was Soupy Sales' girlfriend on his kids show. (In fact, just Soupy in drag.)

Whatever pickup Doc was using did not do his guitar tone much justice.

Gotta wonder if Pat had that tune in mind when he wrote the below (BTW, that is the late great Butch Thompson on clarinet, which he played every bit as masterfully as he did stride piano, IMO):

The first modern version I heard (i.e., not Jimmie Rodgers). Of course, all resonator instruments, lots of sliding around. Mike Auldridge taking the lead.
