After a day off, it's back on the psychic chain gang. You know what I mean.
Regards from Brooklyn.

Ran across this interesting NYTimes excerpt this morning amid my editing chores:
Leave it to Dolly Parton to reunite the surviving Beatles for a rousing rendition of “Let It Be,” which will appear on her star-studded November album, “Rockstar.” Accompanied by Peter Frampton on guitar and Mick Fleetwood on drums, Parton dives head-first into the song’s reverent spiritualism, as she did on her great 2001 cover of Collective Soul’s “Shine.” Her “Let It Be” hews closer to the original arrangement, as McCartney leads the way with his memorable piano progression and Frampton lets a mid-song solo rip. Were it done with anything less than absolute conviction, the whole thing would feel like a superfluous rock star indulgence. But the earnest, serene warmth of Parton’s voice makes it work, as she enlivens one of the most familiar songs in rock history with her own particular glow.

Paul contributes too many “Let It Be” responses to Dolly’s “Let It Be” calls. Dolly also speaks the final “let It be” and the end of each verse, where once would do. And I’m not sure what Ringo’s doing, because Mick Fleetwood is also on the track. But Frampton’s guitar solo is pretty good, though nothing matches the original(s).

Good morning, it's a nice cool morning, if you're in an air conditioned building. If you're outside, it'll be 103 this afternoon.
I've got some music stuff to do today and only plan to go outside to check the mailbox.
Well I might go outside to pick up a package if Amazon comes through for me today.

Ho Boy ! Is it ever humorous out there.
I decided to play pickleball this morning before the heat of the day. Temp was in the 80s. I think humidity was rainforest like. Good news is far fewer people showed up, so you didn't have to sit out between games. Bad news is you never got to sit out. Played an hour and 15. I'm gassed. Sitting in doors in front of a fan sucking Gatorade.

Up. Off to Kaiser for INR in a bit. Bike ride later. Nice day here. No smoke, and a forcast high of 80. That will work.

Good job on Wordle, James. I've seen laments from people who busted on this one. At every fork in the road, I took the wrong turn.

Good morning 78F-97F sunny It's already really humid out there and today will be as bad if not worse than yesterday. ` Lower back still making my life miserable. I normally will only take the minimum dose of any over the counter pain med but today I doubled up because I want to be upright and down in the shop as much as possible. Nice and cool down there and my office is the hottest part of the house. DaWife is fine as the AC unit is right next to her living room desk. We have another AC unit upstairs where we rarely go anymore, no kids living here. Bad back be damned that thing is going to get wrestled down to the office to cool off the back areas of the house. By Saturday things will cool down, but I ain't waiting for it. Waffles and strawberries for breakfast.

I had forgotten about yesterday's soap spill in the shower. It made stepping into the shower this morning a slippery, clumsy, nearly break-dancing event. I stayed pretty much vertical and only bruised a shin.
Be careful out there.

Morning!
Be careful out there. A fellow I know darn near killed himself in the shower this morning. And he was even mostly sober (I think).

Once meds kicked in we wrestled the AC unit down stairs and got it hooked up in my sweltering office. I kicked it on and then went down to the cool shop. 2 hours later I came back up to a nice cool office. Nap time.
PS: Cats were out all night and only came in for a few minutes to eat this morning. They have water and shade and if things do get desperate Simon bangs on the storm door. Riley will go to the bedroom side of the house and yowl.
