Looking forward to the Chris Christie show tonight, and am glad Trump will not be on hand. Should be cool to see who is willing to admit Biden won.
Starting soon.

I must say I've disagreed with Chris Christie many times over the past however many years he's been in the public eye, but I could definitely vote for him. Maybe that makes him unfit for his party, maybe not. There will be a few people on that stage I will give serious consideration to if they don't say too many stupid things. But I doubt any of them will be at the top of their ticket.
I just want either major party to nominate people I could stand to vote for. PLEASE. PRETTY PLEASE. I'm asking nicely.

Christie is good at doing that. I'm not watching, but I expect to catch it later. I want to see how Nicki Haley does. She strikes me as qualified and experienced, and rational. All qualities that mean nothing in the Republican primaries.

OK John B, I’ve heard your supplication and I’ll agree to run. If elected, down rail pintails for everyone. And all Collings guitars will be fully tax deductible. The Western White House will be established at Honolua Bay, and Lahaina will be rebuilt to hell with the cost. Loaded (brand name) skateboards will be given to all groms and skate and surf teams will replace football in intramural sports.
Hmm. Looking over my platform I realize there may be the teensiest chance that America is not ready for me. Oh well.

So far, Vivek seems to be rocking it. I prefer Nikki and perhaps Tim Scott, but if he figures out how to not occasionally say stupid things he is in the running; although it also depends on his support for the former president (pick one, any one).

I like Scott but he's not made for this format. And Haley is just same old same old along with virtually every uniparty hack of the last 50 or 60 years.

Could anything in the world matter less than a Republican debate?

"Could anything in the world matter less than a Republican debate?"
It matters to some people. I didn't watch. I'm not a Republican and I won't play any part in choosing the Republican nominee. It's very unlikely that anyone on that stage will be our next president. I figured that watching would only depress me. So I read a book instead.

We don't get FOX news on our DISH lineup so we couldn't watch even if we wanted to. And don't have X so couldn't watch Trump's bull either. But that said, we have no interest in either.

I watched the last hour. My goodness. Such rancor. A bunch of angry white me. (Except for Haley, and she's pretty close). I thought most of them got some good digs in towards each other, and took some hits too. I still like Haley of the lot of them.
The biggest divide I saw was over Ukraine. Half say, "Cut the aid." Other half say, "It's a fight for freedom. Ukraine today, or Taiwan tomorrow."

I tried to watch for a bit, but I couldn't hear a darn thing they were saying, some a-hole was practicing Sousa runs on his trombone. Had to go for a walk with Casper just to get away from the noise.
