Good morning. It'll be a typical August day here.
Yesterday I had an exchange of emails with a college girlfriend. I haven't seen her since the 70s. About every seven or eight years we get in touch by email. I'm not sure what to say in an infrequent exchange of that sort. But I can tell that the vivacity that drew me to her in the first place is still there. It hasn't been ground down. That cheers me up.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. It's raining hard in New York this morning and should continue into tomorrow. Happily, I can work from home today.
Wishing everyone a good day. Now for some breakfast and badly needed coffee.

It's a little cooler here today, and there is currently rain just to the north. I heard thunder a little while ago and there was a little rain, I think we got 17 drops.
Grocery shopping later this morning.

105 yesterday. 84 today. 84 will seem cool. I can say, without a doubt, 105 with 88% humidity is not pleasant. Stay cool.

G'day!
Quiet this morning. It's cooling off quite a bit over night so pre fall weather here.
Played a little nylon guitar last night and worked up a passable version of Willie's Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground

It looks like rain. I hope we get some, minus the storms, of course.

Cloudy and coolish after a stormy evening.
Severe thunderstorms and a few tornadoes hit Michigan between 8:00 and 10:00 PM. A brief hangout in the basement with three humans and two dogs whilst tornado sirens sounded. Both of our kids were working. Our son is a campus cop, they were fixed to screens and countywide dispatch while preparing to respond. The campus was mostly empty and as far as I know no damage. Our daughter had a more exciting evening. She is a nurse aide in a VA nursing facility. As the storm started, they had to move residents into hallways. Shortly thereafter a tree came down and crashed through a window into a resident's room, followed by a leaking roof. Trees came down and blocked the main entrance to the facility, fortunately they unlocked the back gate and she got home more or less on time.
Might take the day off and go kayaking. Not the best boating weather, so perhaps I will have the lake and surrounding wetlands to myself.

Good morning
67F-86F mostly sunny.
Did quite a bit of shop time yesterday and actually made $. I didn't get any errands done which means I'll have to do so this morning. But that's fine as I feel like getting out of the house for a while.

Making a breakfast sandwich is much easier since I learned how to cook an egg in the microwave.

Tamarack, I'm glad you and yours are okay. We are familiar with tornadoes around here. Scary things.
I am home today, COVID having finally caught up with me. Not feeling too good.

The usual here, Breakfast consumed, wife is snooozing in, bike ride later, before it gets too hot.

Sadly, all my girlfriends from high school and college days are dead.
