My how time flies.
Summer is finished. Daughter just left the apartment to begin her junior year in high school.
Hard to believe this little girl has her sights set on a career in engineering.
Wishing everyone a good day, especially students returning to classes.

Cloudy, breezy, and cooler.
Leaving Grand Rabbits about an hour later than planned. Will see some of you in Vinton in 8 hours, will toast the rest of you.

Home for the day. I'm going to see if I can get a line-of-travel for the Bourbon route so I can see what I'm up against every day (should I be lucky enough to get the route).
Beyond that, I'mma cut the grass and eat hotdogs all day, and dream of being in Vinton showing yous guys how to play the guitar.

Good morning.
58F-77F mostly cloudy.
People headed north today and tomorrow to get that one last weekend at the lake before shutting down the cabin for the year. Some wait to see if we get one last warm spell, optimists.
I have a client to see this morning and then going to get a new lockset for my side door. It seems that keys not cut to unlock the door do unlock the door. I was trying keys yesterday so I could make the girls a full set and was surprised to find one Front key that works on both front and side doors. So side door gets a new lockset as my chore for the day.
IJ, so it begins. We all expect posts and photos as possible. In fact I'll start a new thread just for that and have a Mod pin it.

Things that go beep in the night. Something was beeping about 1:15 AM and then again at 3:00 AM. Only briefly both times, so that when Mr. H got up to check, he couldn't find the source. Everything looks normal in the light of day. Until you start looking for what interrupted your sleep, you don't realize how many things you have with alarms. Burglar alarm, low battery warning for each sensor for that alarm, smoke alarms, refrigerator that hates even short power glitches, UPS for each computer, probably some other things that we missed. We even checked the microwave and the TVs.

Hobson, I feel your pain: I too have searched for beeping culprits. Maddening.
A great weather day is predicted here with a high of 72. I will hopefully escape work a bit early to take a motorbike ride and maybe hit the dog park this evening.

Just got home from dropping Sue off at the airport, she's headed home to Florida and will miss IJam. I shall Carry on.
I think I've got stuff rounded up that I need to take to Phil's tonight, I hope so.
Looks like a beautiful, cool weekend.

Just remember, you’re off for the day - no need to chip in like you did two weeks ago on your Thursday “off.” Unless you want to, of course.

So. Had coffee with old farts again today, saw a couple of friends I hadn’t seen in years. Made plans to attend the celebration of life of another. And yesterday at the dermatologist he biopsied a spot on my neck, said it looked highly suspicious, but we’d know in about a week. Said not to lose sleep over it. So…
Mowed the lawn today, wore a sun hat.

I arrived in Vinton a half hour ago. Took the subway from the Vinton Airport to the Cobblestone. Resting up for Phil's gathering.

Took the subway from the Vinton Airport to the Cobblestone. Locals call it "the storm sewer," FYI.
