Good morning. I'm sure that all who are in Vinton or headed that way are having fun.
All's well here.

Good morning, Soundhooligans.
We have our home back! Everything is unpacked and stowed ship-shape and Bristol fashion. With the platform gone, on which the dining area and kitchen sat, the living area seems noticeably more spacious. We cleaned, tidied, and it is so good to have our space again, with the dining table in the dining area, and the living room back to being a comfortable room. There's just framed art (quite a few pieces) that needs to find homes on the walls again, and with the kitchen doorway being opened up and no wall there now, my father's photographs of the Beatles will have to hang somewhere else.
My lower back is not quite on fire but definitely smoldering this morning.
Everyone in Vinton: Have a great time!

I am sure the IJammers are sleeping off last night’s drunken debauchery in various rooms and cars at the Cobblestone. Either that or they are having breakfast at the Vinton Family Restaurant. I had my police scanner set to Vinton’s PD and I did not hear of any arrests involving anyone I knew. Maybe all is quiet. It’s cool here. It dropped to the upper 40s last night. Loved it. Speaking of fish, we went out for perch last night at a local place. Mighty yummy. Over & out.

Morning. The lake is calm, the coffee is good, and Casper is being made a fool of by a duck.

Good Morning from the Frank family kitchen table, where Todd's amazing daughters are serving an amazing breakfast casserole.
A fine feed and jam session at the Merc last night. Lovely Iowa sunrise and pleasant day ahead. A fine day for the Depot and fine evening for a concert.

F#sus4.
You know how Todd has his favorite chord? Well, apparently so do I. And it’s F#sus4, 099000. I just like the way it sounds, played as an arpeggio. Followed by a first position A, then sliding the A shape up to the fifth fret. Almost makes it sound like I know what I’m doing. For the longest time I didn’t know what the chord was, but I found this Chord Namer site that lets you put in the fingering and then will tell you what chord it is. So I got that going for me.
Bagels, cream cheese, and smoked salmon for breakfast this morning. Nita is practicing for her upcoming cruise from New York to Nova Scotia and back. I was going to meet her in New York when the cruise ends but we decided it would cost too much so I’ll hold down the fort here.
Going to be a warm day here. Forcast high is 87. I’ll edge the front and go for a bike ride early.

Nice breakfast at 218, fun drive on Todd-selected backroads with JohnB as navigator, mellow couple of hours at the Depot, where Tamarack showered love on my Goodall. It's never looked, sounded or played better.
Hiccups returned while John and I were roadtripping, and are still going to the extent that I skipped our communal Mexican dinner, and even tonight's concert, just feeling pretty miserable and helpless about it all.
I'm in the Cobblestone lobby, on their steam-powered computer, and with any luck, I'll be able to stay up until at least the first of the stragglers show up to make mit der hotel musik.

Sorry to read about the hiccups. I hope they go away soon. I am glad you are able to be there.

I'm especially bummed that I am missing the performance debut of Melva Radtke on accordion -- who knew? -- playing with Joy and Dub and JohnB on a tune that JohnB wrote, a tribute to our beloved venue called "The Mercantile Waltz." It's delightful.

Speaking of delightful, the late great Dennis O'Neil's sisters, Tara and Pam, are exactly that, and seem to be having a great time.
Also delightful, the weather. Ideal.

I am so, so happy tonight. Joy, Melva and Russell did such a fantastic job on "Mercantile Waltz." I have a couple of videos of it that I will figure out how to share. What a wonderful weekend so far.
