Good morning. We'll have a fairly pleasant day, 70s to about 100. I need to remove everything from my old Jeep in preparation for changing vehicles. I'm still feeling some effects from the bug that's been circulating in our house but they're minor. Enjoy your day.

Ran some errands this morning, drug store for some detergent and paper towels. Then the super for some foodstuffs.
And there's a bakery next door to that so I thought I'd pick up a loaf of bread. (I'm a muesli/granola person, but my wife likes toast in the morning.)
Had to skip it tho, since I didn't have my voter ID with me...

Slept well, coffee is ready, and the day begins.

Slept poorly, on the positive side, was up for the Singapore practice 3 that occurred a few hours ago.
LJ, saw your discussion of the ankle issue. My office manager has had issues with hers forever, but being 50, they say she’s too young to have any kind of surgery.
Not sure what’s on the agenda for today, may have to catch up on mic builds.

That’s what they told me at 50, too. I was told years ago that I would probably need surgery when I was in my 70s. I guess it was an accurate prediction.

Day 3 of Covid, part four. Feeling much better, thank you.
Symptoms? Sore throat Runny nose Cough Aches Fatigue Altered sense of smell
Pretty much just a common cold. Wendy just had it. Not pleasant but not worthy of running about with hair on fire crying "the sky is falling!"
It appears at this stage of the game that the vaxxed (and boosted ad infinitum) are just as susceptible to this strain as us Purebloods™

A cool 68F this morning. Heading to 100 for the next 3 days, then only upper 90s. Nothing much on the agenda. Mr. H finally broke down and made an appointment with his PCP for his frequently blocked eustachian tubes that have been bothering him for about a month ever since we picked up whatever crud we had. But of course he waited until Friday afternoon to call and the only time he could get was 7:00 AM on Tuesday. There might be enough daylight for him to drive himself. Maybe one result will be a diagnosis and we can assume that I had the same thing. No fever, no aches, no fatigue, no loss of appetite, no altered sense of taste or smell. But a sore throat for a day or two and lingering (very lingering) cough and runny nose. Sounds like RSV. Sounds like something that will have to go away on its own with the usual rest, decent diet, and staying hydrated.

Good morning. I had a great sleep last night, coffee this morning and I'm ready to go. Urbana Farmer's market this morning and this afternoon we have our ski club (snow) kickoff meeting. The meeting is a potluck affair and I have sauerkraut and polish sausage heating up in a crock pot. I'll probably take some sweets too, depending on what I find at the Farmer's market.
We might get a little rain today, if we're lucky.

2nd cup of coffee is down and the eyes are awake. Our property tax bill arrived yesterday. A 1.8% increase over last year. Not bad, but still going up, not down. But still less than living in Wisconsin.

Good morning.
53F-72F mostly sunny.
Saturday Shop first and then maybe just afternoon out of the house again. We did that yesterday but Me Darling Wife wanted to look at jeans at JC Penny's. That's in Woodbury east of us and I found out real quick that taking Hwy 94 east is a BAD idea, road work for miles on a usually BUSY road. We got turned around and it took forever to get our bearings straight. I took the long way home to avoid the freeway but she did get her jeans. I think we'll head up near Bill's place today and avoid freeways all together.

I have coffee in me, and wanting more. Finger style picking is coming along, mostly making errors, but that is to be expected. I am embracing the pinch Russell!
Tried to smoke a Boston Butt the other day, and my smoker acted all wonky. My early diagnosis is a bad fan. I get to crawl under it this morning to check connections, and possibly get a new fan on order. Crawling under anything and then getting up, is not a pretty site these days!
Looks like a good day, and as Paleo observed, a possibility of some precipitation but I have my doubts!

Morning. Slept more or less. Knee still bothering me, hoping the orthopedic can do something.
The damn lawn keeps growing. No big deal when your knees work, but…

Not pleasant but not worthy of running about with hair on fire crying "the sky is falling!" It appears at this stage of the game that the vaxxed (and boosted ad infinitum) are just as susceptible to this strain as us Purebloods™ :-) Evan: Me too. I tested positive for COVID yesterday morning, after thinking it was just a cold, and negative results from my first test on Thursday. Same symptoms as yours, with the addition of blurry vision, except my sense of smell has been altered since my first bout with this last November, when our daughter brought it home from school. Since then, everything smells like a combination of baked goods and salami, 24/7. My doc said that if I am not lying in bed feeling as though I'm dying, he won't prescribe Paxlovid.
This new bout has a direct connection to my company's 50th anniversary employee "event" last week (read: superspreader event), attended by more than 1,000 employees, which I did not attend. The entire imaging team on my floor tested positive a couple of days later, and management informed NO ONE. Another coworker in my immediate area tested positive on Thursday night. It was inevitable. Needless to say, I am furious. And still waiting for my local pharmacies to get the new booster in stock.
Plus, we are taking care of my son's untrained dog for the weekend, and she barks incessantly. Not doing this again.
Otherwise, life is great. I hope you feel better soon, Evan!

Partly cloudy, slightly chilly. As much as I enjoy autumn, I am not mentally prepared for chilly mornings.
A fine time yesterday evening with my sister, brother, and SIL. Seven years from the last time I saw my sister in person was no deterrent to good conversations.
Headed out to meet said sister at her campsite on Lake Michigan, where she will get to meet three grandnieces.

Positive thoughts and the remedies of each person's choice to Evan, Howard, and Hobson's First Gentleman. Phil, if I have to crawl under anything these days I'm bringing snacks because I'm going to be there for a while. Best wishes to everyone else. I managed to narrow down my pics from last Saturday's concert at the Mercantile, and I added a post to the photos thread. In case anyone misses it, I'll post it here too. As I mentioned in the other thread, I apologize for the sometimes wonky colors and the inability of my camera to catch some details. These would probably look OK as 4X6 photos; on a monitor they all get fuzzed out and lose detail. By the way, it's never the photographer's (or developer's) fault; as I am a poor carpenter I blame my hammer. Anyway, take note of the last two pictures. I am embracing the pinch Russell! It's the "or don't" that makes for all the fun. Dum-dum, dum-dum, deedle-deedle, deedle-deedle. And if you're using three fingers, deedle-a-deedle-a. Triplet rolls are the bomb.
