Happy Saturday. Today will involve a lot of to-dos. There's a lot of neglected yard work to do, mainly fighting back incursions of Bermuda grass in the beds. I also need to fix a tripod leg that came loose during my recent outing. It'll be my night to cook and I'll make shrimp scampi and rice pilaf. Dinner will need to be early enough to let us watch Doc Martin at 6:00. Fie on whoever decide to air this season's episodes at 6:00 PM.
That's enough to keep me out of trouble. May it be a good day on your end.

Long day yesterday but it ended with a neighborhood block party. One neighbor owns 5 Culver’s in Northwest IN, so he provided all the food. Pot roast sliders, chicken sandwiches, salad, and 3 types of frozen custard with a table full of toppings. It was a great way to end the day. I kept thinking I would look up and see Bill Hammond at the food table. Another neighbor had a bar set up with 5 types of Scotch, 3 types of beer, and many other spirits. The scotch selection was very popular with several of the guys. I was wishing Mike Wonder was there to explain it all to me. It was all very good and it was nice getting together with all the neighbors to catch up on what’s going on. I needed that. Today looks quiet and peaceful. Enjoy.

Partly cloudy, warm.
Muddling about after a week of intense grandparenting. No great plans for the day, other than cutting the grass and miscellaneous yard work. Lots of finishing touches to be done on various projects, both here and at son and DIL's house. Party this evening to observe a friends 60th birthday and 40th anniversary.
Have a fine autumnal equinox one and all.

Good morning.
64F-74F cloudy
Tomorrow will be our 35th Wedding Anniversary and we will celebrate by going to a very nice steak and seafood place in Little Canada.
I will spend the morning in my shop and I think we will do some shopping this afternoon. We've kinda slipped into the habit of grocery shopping on Saturday instead of Sunday after breakfast lately and it seems to work.

Thank you for creating the Daily, Don. I slept in until 7:45 and then made breakfast for the womenfolk. Just finished cleaning up the !NEW! kitchen. It is such a pleasure to have our space back as well as a brand-new kitchen with modern appliances, really efficient LED lighting, and way more counter real estate and storage than before.
59° and raining in Brooklyn currently. Not to much planned for the day; I have a haircut appointment in an hour, locally. Then some hang time with the teen, some reading (currently working my way through Robbie Robertson's memoir, "Testimony"), and some guitar time, too.
We visited a shade shop yesterday and are waiting for an estimate for four windows and the balcony door (that last one finally, after 20 years). If I am going to hang my father's photos of the Beatles on the living room wall where the setting sun shines at certain times of the year, we are covering those windows and doors with solar-protection style shades. We're expecting a high number—everything has gotten so expensive, but our once-white cellular-style shades are 19 years old and a hideous shade of gray. I suppose we need to do this.
Have a safe and cozy day, all.

Today is the annual Car Cruise in Vinton. I will be getting the 1964 Ford Galaxie out and check all of the fluids, top off what needs to be topped off, feel the pain of filling up with Premium Fuel, and take it to the local car wash to clean off some of the collected dust. All, and all, the weather should be fine.
We finally received some much need moisture yesterday, but it did not disrupt the Homecoming Pep Rally celebration. I drove the school bus to the Pep Rally and loaded out kids from the rally to take home. However, the game last night did have an hour and a half lightening delay before the home team fell to the out-of-town team, Iowa Falls/Alden, by a score of 43 to 30.
Well that is a list of the exciting things happening today in Vinton, have good ones!

Sheesh! I posted in Marshall’s thread instead of the daily. What a dope.
And LJ, I’m worthless as far as scotch goes. Bourbon, well, that’s another story.
So, fall is here. And the weather is changing. It’s 54 degrees out there right now, head towards a high of around 69. Overcast, and real rain is supposed to hit tomorrow afternoon. The weather dudes say we will get an inch and a half to two inches in the coming week. That would mess with my bike riding except with my knee I can’t ride anyway. On the cruise front, the gals are parked in Boston this am, they are on a tour today.
That’s all the news I got. Oh, and I’m jealous of Marshall, gets to socialize with formate’s, and access to a good luthier?

The morning is almost gone and the only think I've accomplished is loosing a song on my recorder that was about 60% complete. Worst part is, I don't know how I did it.
My New ATV battery arrived yesterday in the mail, yes, a battery shipped by the USPS. The battery is an AGM type, (Absorbent Glass Mat). No maintenance, non-spillable, mount in any position, expensive. I'm hoping to get it installed this afternoon, not an easy task.
Og course o could go to the cruise in Vinton, we'll see.

You are always welcome to take a couple of laps with me. That would mean that Deb could stay home and work on a quilt. I am sure she would be good with that!!!

Mr. H made goat cheese and sun dried tomato omelets for breakfast. We are gorging on the tomatoes since Costco finally has them again after a couple of years. After breakfast Mr. H informed me that he wants to buy new truck batteries (yes, that's 2 batteries in the truck) today. So once he gets the old ones out, I'll drive him to the parts store. I thought I had a day of nothing. And tomorrow we need to make two stops after church. And Monday he wants me to take the Blazer for its emissions test before we can renew the tags. It's a good thing he can cook and is overall a nice guy.

So I have been holding off on mentioning this until all the ducks were in order.
I was taken off the liver transplant list in June, 2022 and am still off of it. My liver numbers have continued to improve and I am doing well with that and feeling good. I see my gastroenterologist every 6 months and this includes a blood test. Anyway, to cut the chase, they found a small heptocellular cancer(hcc) tumor. The outlook is very good. I started immunotherapy yesterday and have none of the myriad of possible side effects that they warned me about. This will (or should) shrink the tumor or eliminate it. I will have another IV of stuff (it bolsters my immune cells to attack the tumor aggressively as the tumor suppresses the immune cells to attack it. As I said, the odds are very much in my favor. Optimism is the only way to look at this thing. Keep good thoughts and prayers for me, if you are so inclined, coming.
Have good ones.

Our neighborhood potluck is tonight, no such luck on culvers owners though.
