More rain being dumped on us by Tropical Storm Ophelia (please GO home).
Coffee is made, about to cook some oatmeal (porridge, in your neck of the woods, James), and I have some Lester Young and the Piano Giants in rotation on the kitchen speaker.
And... I am off tomorrow for the most sober holiday in the Jewish calendar, the one day of the year we have to atone for all our sins of the previous year. I will be very busy.
Wishing everyone a lovely, sin-free day. If you can't be good, be careful.

Good morning. Howard, I learned as a child that it was inappropriate to wish someone a happy Yom Kippur. May you have a grave and somber Yom Kippur. Do a little atoning for me if you don't mind.
It'll be a pleasant day here. I'm going to attend the early church service because the main service has been getting a little too long for me. After that I'll fritter the time away somehow. Enjoy your day.

Thank you, Don. It's a fast day so, traditionally, you wish someone "an easy fast." Since I am hypoglycemic, I don't fast for the entire day.
Although, when you apply simple logic, once a person has atoned for their sins, they should be happy, no?

Real rain returns to OR today. For the next week, they are now saying we will get 2.5 inches, so I’ll limp out to the garage this am and turn off the automatic sprinklers. Pancakes and scramble for breakfast. Then football Sunday, I guess.

Not if you were raised Presbyterian. You should still feel guilty about your sins even if you have atoned.

What a burden we drag through our lives.

Eric and I will practice today for the first time in a few weeks. We have one new tune that we'll focus on today; Brownie McGee's tune "Born and Livin' With the Blues"

Paleo, and pthomas cruising in the Galaxie during the Vinton Cruise Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023. A good time was had by all, and this year, they had a burn-out pit for those that had a need to leave some burnt rubber behind. I cherish my tires too much for that kind of thing, and at my age, if the car could do it (question mark) the guy behind the wheel shouldn't! We have a chuck roast on the smoker this morning, and will let that do its magic for 8 hours. If I can do this, I may eventually graduate to a brisket. For now, this will have to do. Have good ones!

I must admit, as the owner of a similar vintage of Falcon, I always envied Galaxie owners. They are SUCH cool cars.

You did Just back from a nice inexpensive Little Oven breakfast and a expensive trip to Cub Pharmacy. DaWife is happy because by grocery shopping on Saturday she is home on time today to watch her DIY/home shows. She will watch her shows and I will go down to the shop for a while.

Well, I survived the Vinton Cruise, it was very enjoyable, but sure made my long for some of the cars I've owned. My Dodge Dart with a 650 hp engine is on the top of the list.
I actually did something guitarish this morning, I replaced the output jack on my bass.
This afternoon I hope to get the new battery installed in the ATV.
