Adventures in Lutherie!
It was 13.5 years ago that Marty coached me through my first drop-fill finish repair on the neck of my Huss and Dalton TD-R Custom. You can just make out the outline of the dent that was made by the tooth of the case latch that dropped on it while I was placing the guitar back in the case, a couple of millimeters left of dead center in the photo. The peg head would be to your right. This was a concern because it was on the treble side of the neck at the third fret and was very evident under the hand. Thanks, Marty! It has been playing smoothly ever since.
I think the clouds are about to break here after five days of rain. Hoping everyone has a better day today.

Looks rainy. I am hobbling today. Weather, maybe. I see the orthopedic carver tomorrow to formulate plans. I am sure I can trust a guy who works for a place called Ankles-R-Us. Maybe I will have Marty talk him through an ankle drop fill. Life ambles on.

Good morning. Tomorrow night I fly off to Bend, Oregon, for a reunion with old friends, i.e., since junior high school and high school. We've reunited periodically ever since. This is the first time in nine years and it's overdue. I'll return next Tuesday morning. Today I'll get organized and prepared. That includes doing a load of laundry so I have enough clothes to get through the trip.
I didn't cheat at Wordle but I got lucky. Have a good day.

Morning,
We are having a stretch of perfect fall weather. Sunny with a mid-day highs in the low 70s. Although, if we got another all day rain, I would call that perfect as well.
I'm off to test out some new wordle starts. I'm a little nervous, but I keep telling myself, it's only a game.

No rain here just heavy overcast. Truck gets an oil change this morning and while that's happening Phil and I will be having lunch at the Brickside chew and Brew, or whatever it's called.

It’s a weird name isn’t it, Paleo? Hopefully I’ll see you both there Saturday.
I’m off to Ankeny for a two day meeting that could’ve been an email. Oh boy.

The newspaper published a list of the 800 registered sex offenders in Lake and Porter Counties. Women, while in the minority, are strongly represented. A great many are child molesters or child porn offenders. Now, that was a cheerful read as I had my coffee. Remember when we thought the internet would be a welcome source of valuable information? Seems like yesterday.

I’m up. The damn knee is healing on its own time schedule, and seems to be in no hurry, which I find highly annoying.
Heard from the wife unit. Today they are at sea, will spend the day making cards, and dine tonight at chefs pairing on the ship, special plates paired with wine selections. I had Mex takeout last night for dinner, shrimp fajita salad. Pretty yummy. Making a pot of chilli tiday.

Good morning 60F-71F cloudy. Sad day, Ellies last day. She is so old, 15 and in pain at times, has a cough. If asked she will get up and go outside but will lay down right away and not move until urged to do so. Fell in love with her the first time I saw her as her manner is so sweet, she loves everyone. I've been moping for the last few days. Don't know if it's Ellie or a mild bug. Spent yesterday pretty much doing nothing except what was needed. I'll get out for a little while today. For those interested Luthier's Mercantile is closing down. I ordered some bridge/plate heating blankets because they are the only place I know of that sells them.

Today I used Mike's wordle start, "stare". For the heck of it I went with his second choice "cloud" for #2. Went for the enchilada on try #3 and got it. Don and Steve must have start words pretty darn similar to Mike's.

My start word is top secret. It is in a lockbox at the First Third Fourth Fifth Bank on the corner of Main and Summit. No one sees it but me.

Weather has gone cold and rainy enough to do a roast meal with all the things and a drop of plonk. So I've done that. Later, I might curl up with a moody Nordic noir on the telly.

I'm home again, hopefully healed enough to attend Todd's functions later this week / weekend.
I feel like I was run through a meat grinder.

Maybe I spent too much time cleaning gutters in the dairy barn as a kid, but adding a drop of plonk to a meal doesn't strike me as a very appealing addition.
