This video is a result of the guitar maker confab in Chicago that LJ, JohnB, and Marshall attended. David Flammang is our good friend, and I thought Cormier's excitement was well-earned.

My god, that guy can yammer on forever going no where.
Yes the Flammangs were/are great. I’m pretty sure I played that very same guitar. And their pricing is pretty reasonable. (About 4 or 5 k). Very comparable with the Bourgie I played and loved for $13k

Jorma Kaukonen now has several of David's guitars and loves them.
Around here, Greg Brown, Iris Dement, and Catfish Keith all have them.
It seems to me Stefan Grossman has a couple too.

Back when I was guitar crazy, I picked up a Flammang 000-SR and Bourgeois Countryman. Both great guitars, but, as my Taylor Swift edition Taylor blows them out of the water, they just don't get played much.

When Podium first started carrying Flammang guitars, we all pronounced it Fla-MANG, but later I heard it's akin to Fleming, FLEH-mang, is that right, Iowans?

I swear one of the women who was working their booth said FluhMAYNG, but maybe that's just what I heard and not what she said.

Maybe a bunch of guys hanging around saying, "Let's get Hammond to screw up names again - 'we swear, Bill - it's Burr-GOYSE.'"

I played a beautiful Flammang GC at Mandolin Brothers, circa 2002. I believe Frazer was with me that day, and we were both impressed. It had so much... musicality in it, if you know what I mean. But it wasn't right for the kind of music I play, so someone else adopted it down the line. But, it was truly a lovely piece, crafted so well, and such a glorious sound.

Here is Flammang's take on the J200 (or maybe J185). It was a much better sounding guitar than Gibson has made in decades.

Don't know if the younger one was a daughter or not. The woman I spoke to was a friend (not his wife). I mistakenly got in the exhibitor lunch line on the first day and spent a while chatting with them (until I got booted out of line by an organizer).
