No daily yet? Well now there is.
Good morning. There's a lot of somber news. I prefer to read about the Diamondbacks routing the Dodgers. The Dodgers are heavily favored in the series, due to their checkbook, and I think they'll win it. It's still gratifying to see David stomp Goliath. At least if you live in Phoenix.
Last night we had smoked chuck. I think I have the process of smoking chuck down pat now. We also had a polenta and parmesan dish.
This morning at church we'll have the blessing of the animals, outdoors. People whose pets aren't aggressive bring them. The pets are collectively blessed. It's both weird and fun. Diane made a lot of dog treats that will be distributed free to dog owners. They're in packages adorned with a photo of Barney, our big black lab. Barney won't attend because while he gets along fine with humans, he often doesn't react well to other big dogs.
Nothing else to report. Have a good day.
I forgot: Wordle 841 5/6*. I twice played letters I'd already ruled out. Double duh.

Chilly out there. I think the hummingbirds have headed south, but I will leave the feeder out this week in case any strays pass through. Breakfast awaits.

A chilly morning in New York, currently 51° and going up to about 63° with a wind chill of 61°. Some quick grocery shopping for me on the agenda—sadly, I return to the sh*thole office where I work after a week off for the holiday, and need ingredients for my homemade lunches. Then later off to a college fair at the Javits Center with the young'un. Supposedly, more than 200 universities will be represented. She has very definite ideas about where she'd like to go, preferring a school in a large city, not a small town. This kid is so focused it's startling.
Another shot of the new pick guard on my Hooper D-28, this one taken with a real camera (FUJIFILM X-Pro2; 35mm f/1.4 lens [52.5mm equivalent]).
Have a pleasant Sunday, people.

Good morning
45F-57F partly cloudy.
Great late lunch with Hammond, Dave and Melva. The food was rather good and we stayed there quite a while but it started to get really loud in that small place due to the game. We will go again on a day with no game.
Today will be just our usual Sunday stuff.

Sunny morning, likely cloudy afternoon. Such is life downwind from a big lake.
Off to church, possible bike ride later on. Might take the old road bike, pump up the tires rock-hard, and take a ride on a freshly paved rails-to-trails bike path.

Room temperature outside this morning. We'll probably head over to Greek Fest today for some food... unless they decide to close the freeway over the weekend as they usually do.

Our blessed animal. I'm off to the Amazon. Did he/she kill a skunk? You should be proud. (Nice picture)

I can’t get the heart monitor wet so this poses a problem for showers. Today I used the bathtub in the guest bath and I thought I was going to need somebody to help me get out! It’s been a long time since I took a bath! Showers are easy. I will need to figure this out for tomorrow. I don’t like baths anyway.

I may cover the monitor with plastic and run through the car wash. Those swirling brushes should do the job.

Well, I had a miserable night. Fever woke me at two, and couldn’t get back to sleep until about 4:30. Tested, and the card says negative, but I don’t believe it. I have all of Anita’s symptoms, and I feel like crap.

Sorry to see this, Mike. I hope you get past it quickly and feel better fast.

Mike, sometimes there's a delay before you test positive. But what matters is how you feel, whatever the test result is. I hope you see an uptick soon.

An acceptably cool Sunday morning. I just aired up the bike tires and loaded the bike into the back of the Prius. About noon I'll head out for Center Point, where I'll get on the bike trail. Just a short ride today, one that will push me over the 500 mile mark for the season.
Roasted kabocha squash and shrimp for dinner tonight.
Had a strange thing happen yesterday at the West Music jam, some guy that I've seen before, but don't know, requested that I do a song that I wrote 4-5 years ago. I obliged.

... Might take the old road bike, pump up the tires rock-hard, and take a ride on a freshly paved rails-to-trails bike path. It's time to give the old prostate a good draining. I added that last part. Tam is a little shy about the personal. But, it's important that we who were assigned male (by someone who didn't even know us) discuss these things.

Chilly out there. I think the hummingbirds have headed south, but I will leave the feeder out this week in case any strays pass through. Same thing here. We’ve had some use us as a migration stop-over but I think they may all have passed through by now. Hummingbirds don’t migrate in flocks. They migrate in pairs or as individuals so there can always be stragglers.
