Ohayo, good friends. Off to make sure income is properly reported to various and sundry jurisdictions.
Happy Frank Clark day, Mark. I assume it's a holiday of sorts in Iowa.

The coffee is good this morning. Happy anniversary on the birth of Frank A. Clark.
Last night I repaired an electric kettle for the wife and also solved a disturbing hum problem caused by our turntable, allowing our daughter to spin her new Lana Del Ray LP. So, I am a hero here for about five minutes.
Still jazzed about my trip to Elkin, NC, last week, getting to hang with Ken Hooper for a couple of days, and the lovely pick guard he made for my (vintage—ha!) Hooper D-28 #26.
Sadly, I have to drag my sorry keister in to the office again, where not one of my younger coworkers said a word to me yesterday. It almost feels as though something is afoot because one of them presumed to tell me how to do my job a couple of weeks ago and I asked the little sociopath not to presume to tell me how to do my job. The corporate environment bites my clank. If I had my druthers, I'd druther stay home and play guitar.

Mark, your dad could have written Poor Richard's Almanac. There are lots of gems in there. I particularly like: "Self-respect in a man is kind of like salt in the soup— the right amount is good— too much is awful." And: "It appears that some folks do great things easily—that’s because we don’t see them struggle through the necessary preparations."
I'm having coffee with an old musician friend this morning. That's my only plan except for making dinner.
Have a good day.

It got into the upper 30s last night but there was no frost here. Maybe there was way up north by Marshall. Clear & sunny but we are supposed to get lots of rain between Wednesday and Sunday. Enjoy things. Mark, if alive, my father would be 115. Barb’s would be 128. Her father was born in 1895 and was a WWI veteran.

The cataract surgery isn't for another 3 weeks, but the eye drops I need to take are being delivered by mail. The important one arrived via USPS to the Goodyear PO a couple days ago, then proceeded to Chino AZ where it still sits today (North up by Prescott). With the surgery 3 weeks away, they still have plenty of time to misroute it to a bunch of other places before I need to get it. Maybe they'll send the package to Cancun for a long weekend.

Good morning.
37F-56F sunny.
The City tree crew is back in the little park across the street today. There are quite a few trees marked to come down. Maybe they can damage a few of the raised gardens, they already did major damage to the shed over there.
I will do a little shop time this morning before a couple of errands.

Busy morning, I have a fresh pot of chili made that will be my dinner for the next several days. We have the possibility of rain into Saturday. Just 6 miles away, in Center Point, lawns are lush and green, mine is a burnt gray/green.
Music practice today at Phil's.
The power company just disconnected the 2 yard lights at the house next door, the house the squatter was just evicted from. I hope they left the power in to the house, with freezing temps coming.

Cloudy, chilly, predicted to rain. Ten-day forecast indicates a solid week of this ahead.
Yard work in between rain showers.

Twins Win. Diamondbacks Win.
See you in the Series, Don.
Expecting a good freeze, I harvested eggplant and peppers into the night and constructed a heated tent over the remaining basil.
It didn't freeze.

We can always hope, Paul. I never thought we'd get past the Dodgers--and maybe we still won't--but it's good to see them playing so well.

The Packers successfully found many ways to lose last night.
My weekend was planned for me yesterday - our refrigerator quit working. I will pull out the tools and see how much damage I can do before I call in the professionals. Who knows, perhaps, with enough Youtube assistance I can get it fixed. Note to my friends, do not purchase Samsung appliances built around 2013
