Good morning.
38F-58F partly cloudy.
Old and predictable, breakfast at the Little Oven and grocery shopping to follow.

Greetings from the Grand Army Plaza on this bright, cool Brooklyn morning.
The arch and grounds are being renovated, currently. Sometimes, it's good to have a NY State Senator living in the neighborhood.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from Livermore, California. My wife and I and our older daughter are here on a short trip to visit our younger daughter. We fly back to Phoenix later today. All is well.

I'm at a bit of a loss. No Vikings today. I suppose I can walk around in circles for a while, that will kill part of the day. After that? Don't know. Maybe something will occur during the circles.

I have a tune for you to work on: An anticipated moist day here, and DIL wants us to join in a visit to a pumpkin patch with 6 month old grand baby. Well, okay. I grabbed a six string this morning, tuned it to DGDGBD to play Kottke's "Arms of Mary." I did not know where to start. Muscle memory failed. So I thought I would play the only other song I know in that tuning, "5 to 99," and realized my fingers did not know that tune anymore either. I think that my attention to learning some electric stuff is screwing me up.

Heading to garrison this afternoon for a Chad Elliott show.
Dinner tonight will be the opilio crab legs I got from caputo’s for the amazing price of $6.99 a pound. Don’t know what we’ll have with them yet.

I grabbed a six string this morning, tuned it to DGDGBD to play Kottke's "Arms of Mary." Been a while since I ham-fistedly plunked away at that one. Also mucked around in Open G. A sketchy approximation of Paul Brady's version of Arthur McBride. youtu.be/cBGkhPx529g?si=m2SSysWwhOgDtd_PHere's an old Will McNicol performance of a Clive Carroll tune which I can't play at all. He sure can though. Simple fix and then went for a spin on the bike, which had got stuck in bottom gear yesterday evening. Finished my falafel stint. Wordle 855 4/6* ⬛⬛⬛⬛🟨 ⬛🟨⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟨🟩⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Well, I think I'm going to have to get rid of the Farida OT-22.
You know that little ribbon of fabric that keeps the case lid from falling all the way open? When I close the lid, instead of folding neatly into the case, that ribbon sticks out of the case.
It's a shame too, because I love that guitar.

The TKL case that holds my late brother’s 1967 D-18 does that too. I hate to dump the guitar but what’s a person to do.

For cryin-out-loud, get a decent padded gig bag. Why anyone would use one of those brutal heavy hard shell cases for every day use is beyond me.

I’m with Marshall on this one. Padded gig bag or a Gator firm case.

Better still, make your own padded gig bag with those styrofoam pads used in packages. You'll need some Elmer's glue.

One of my "things" is teaching people to be in the habit of ALWAYS sweeping their hand against that retaining strap to make sure it goes inward when closing a case. If left "untrained" and hanging out it will wear and break. Then the case lid will open too far and eventually break the hinges. I've replaced many of those straps.
