That’s an awesome story. “John Wayne couldn’t have done any better.” I’m pretty sure he couldn’t have done it at all.
On a side note, it was neat to see what a working cowboys hat looks like.

What a pretty horse! (and that isn't something I would typically say, not being much of a fan)

Wasn't this story posted previously? It is seven years old and seems familiar. Maybe I saw it elsewhere.

A couple things I learned talking to actual cowboys is they never say dogie or cow puncher. And, James, I recall the story being posted before, too. Still, it’s a good one worthy of a second visit.

A fellow just got roped on the Walmart lot the other day while trying to run off with a TV. Third one this week. Walmart has had a cowpoke on lot duty 24/7 for the last year, and large item thefts are down 73%. Target just hired a cowpoke as well, plus they have a small herd of pigs trained to sniff out un-decoded electronics. You get circled up by a herd of trained pigs, you ain't going nowhere with nothing.
Casper tried to get hired on at Target earlier this year, but, so far, they are sticking just with the trained pigs.

No, it just happens pretty frequently in the US. Not. Clearly it does, as evidenced by Paul's post above. If you lived in the US you'd know.

I missed it first time around. Thanks for posting it, John. It brought joy to my day.
I suspect that my dad or brother would have done the same (if they were on a horse in the Walmart parking lot). Sadly, I never got into roping. Roping security at Walmart would make a much more interesting post-retirement part-time job than greeter.

A fellow just got roped on the Walmart lot the other day It's subtle, but there's a difference between "roped" and "looped".
