From Bill to Bill, happy birthday! I checked the birthday list today, and it was empty, as was PaulK's recent birthday. Shy persons?

That is a hilariously tiny driver in what is a very small car.

Bill, whatever you're doing, I hope you have had a good lead-in for your birthday weekend. Stay frosty.

That is a hilariously tiny driver in what is a very small car. I don’t get it. On edit: Seriously, why did you write that? That looks to me like a 1954 Corvette. Isn’t that what it is? I remember seeing one of those at the auto show that year. I walked all around it examining it with care. I may have even gotten in to see what it felt like, I don’t remember. It wasn’t tiny and had plenty of driver space. It was by far the best looking Corvette ever made.

There are so many nice Corvettes, but that first generation, 1953-55 might be my favorite. This is the first time I have picked the same car (model/year) back to back for birthdays (both 54s, as it turned out). The first Corvette and the first Thunderbird were so clean, so nice. GM turned the Corvette into one of the finest sport touring cars in the world, Ford turned the Thunderbird into a lumbering pig. Someone or ones in Dearborn should have been shot for what they did to the Thunderbird.

What Ford did: This (1954) to This (1975) Good Damn Grief! WTF were they thinking? What a PIG.

Ford turned the Thunderbird into a lumbering pig. Someone or ones in Dearborn should have been shot for what they did to the Thunderbird. My family's 1960 Thunderbird was no lumbering pig -- it was a rocket, in fact. I never forgave my old man for trading it in right before I got my license. And he bought a lumbering pig, a box-square '65 Mercury Monterey. Our Bird looked like this:
