This is a nice player grade one I bought earlier this year. Not sure of the year, but it's mahog x sitka with the simpler binding so an earlier 2000's one. Santa Cruz RS(Roy Smeck) so 1 13/16" x 2 5/16", short scale, 12 fret neck, jumbo body, set up with lights. Sounds incredible plays itself. It was some rock band dudes acoustic for a long time so it has body dings and scuffs and was discounted. So I guess I've slowed down but I ain't dead yet.

My enjoyment of playing, writing, recording music hasn’t diminished at all, that’s for sure.

I found you a deal just across the border in Dickenson. $2,100.99. Take care of all your lawn and garden duties, plus snow removal. It has a few dings and not much shine, but the owner says it used to run real good! I kinda like that one! Snow removal on that without a cab? No!

I went to the local big box music store yesterday to buy some strings. While there I tried a new Gibson OO, a Martin OM, and a Larrivee OM. All lovely guitars, played and sounded beautiful. Might have had a slight preference for the Gibson. I didn’t have an urge to buy any of them.Is this, like, one of those getting old thingees? GAS finally bites the dust? And, there were a dozen other fine guitars in there that went unplayed. I don’t know myself anymore. I suppose I'll never stop being seduced by the beauty of guitars (the archtop in John's thread is a perfect example). I have more guitars than I need, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy each of them for their stories and their sounds. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much the new Farida has inspired me to play. Who knew such an inexpensive guitar could do that?

I sold all my guitars and tossed salt around the guitar room so they won’t grow back. It was a silly hobby to begin with and I am glad it is over.

If this is ever the case, please let me know so I can determine how many more years I will have to put off retirement to afford one or two (not the short pants, but the long jeans).

I could have been lying about this. Dammit, I wish you would indicate when you are lying. Next you're going to tell me that you've exaggerated in OTHER posts, too. I anticipate any raiding of your collection would push "retire when Medicare-qualified" to "retire when required minimum distributions start" or maybe "die at your desk, slaving over a spreadsheet."

I played one destined for Bresh’s hands in Del’s shop. It was a strange guitar but it actually sounded quite good. Later ones Del made had a B shaped soundhole. Del made several of them for Bresh but it was also in the catalog so anyone could order one.

That's what I said, in any number of different pronunciations.

I cannot picture a B-shaped soundhole.

Del told me it was Lang yans with short A sound in the yans part. I have heard it pronounced many, many ways. Last time I was at Elderly, they had a classical of Del’s and they all pronounced it Lang Jans with a j sound. I kept saying it the way Del told me to, but they just ignored me.😁
