Double hump day. Back to the culture desert that is the Garment District, at the edge of which my office lies. Yesterday as I was exiting the subway at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue, two young fellows were sitting on the bottom step of the stairs to the street, openly shooting heroin. The one on the right was trying to find a vein. All these wasted lives...
Cold cold cold in New York this morning. Keep calm and stay warm. And don't shoot heroin.

Well, I dreamed about one of these last night, so I guess I'd better act on it today -- Culver's Pot Roast Sandwich. I'll order it with mustard, red onion slices and horseradish sauce. Plus coleslaw. Plus a root beer float. Gonna be a great day.

Wednesday. Big deal. I’m suppose to get excited because it’s midway through the work week? Why? I honestly do not care.🥱 It’s less cold today. Out of the teens and up to 41 today. Then, 40s to 50s for the next 7-10 days. Have a good one.

High of only 70 today, but clear sunny skies. I have my final followup visit with the cataract surgeon today. Both eyes have gotten considerably more stable vision-wise and good enough to get by without glasses for most everything. After everything settles down though, I may still want glasses for driving, especially at night. All-in-all though, a resounding success.

Good morning.
24F-42F sunny.
Hopefully no errands do run today and I'll just get some shop time in.

Morning. 10 degrees this morning. Starting to focus on year end stuff for the business. Today I bought $646 worth of Christmas candy. Not for me. Or you for that matter.

Good morning. Got into the 30's overnight here in Spring Hill. Sunny and maybe we'll get to 70 later in the day. Claire's truck has a pinhole sized hole in the sidewall of one of her tires. It's not patchable so we have to buy a new tire, $290.00. I just love these unexpected expenses.....not. Have a great day everyone.

Then, 40s to 50s for the next 7-10 days. Have a good one. Stiatistically you are more likely to die on the “backside” of Hump Day (Thurs - Sun) than you are on the front side. So while those of us still employed are looking forward to the weekend, you are gazing at your own mortality, hoping to see the next Monday. So Hump Day means different things to different people.

I’m ignoring John B’s post because, well, because.
Is Weds I’m told. My iPad says so, so it must be true. Nita is shopping online for a couple little Xmas trees that light up for our outside pathway. John will be happy to hear they will ship UPS. Have plans to go to a Xmas tree farm on Sat with the kids and get our inside tree. Nita’s birthday is next week so I’ll order her German chocolate birthday cake today from Helen Bernhardt’s. We will share it with the kids Sat after putting up the tree. This morning need to go to the garage and plug in Xmas lights and see what works and what needs to get pitched. That’s the day.

Morning.
On a casual car search. The plan is to pull the trigger sometime between now and Spring. I might have to pull the trigger now just to get it by Spring, if I want my choice of color. Most of the Honda and Hyundai Hybrids showing on websites are "arriving" inventory, and most have deposits on them. I finally got a chance to test drive a CRV Hybrid. It was sold, but I got to take it for a spin before it disappeared. My first chance to drive a Tucson Hybrid will be early Dec.
And my first chance to test drive a KIA Sportage would be six months to a year. They are selling so fast they aren't even delivering any to their Midwest dealers, the coasts are grabbing all of them. As for a Plug-in Hybrid, that wait could be a year.
The CRV Hybrid was a delight. Fun car. Very comfy.

Morning. My first chance to drive a Tucson Hybrid will be early Dec. Paul, You could drop by today and drive our Tucson Hybrid, but you have to bring it back the same day. No trips to the Midwest. A quick workday here. I had been waiting on a judge's signature on an order. So I emailed his staff yesterday and they got him to sign it the same day! This is an amazing occurrence for this particular court. I might have to send candy. Anyway, after some office work, it is off to pick up grandnugget for our weekly afternoon babysitting. For hockey fans…..
As the old joke goes, “I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out.” Last night a brutally played game between the Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators broke devolved into a brawl that involved all 10 players on the ice. The referees were forced to wrestle with players who kept returning to the bout. Eventually all 10 players were given 10-minute misconduct penalties with seven minutes left to play. The combatants went to their locker rooms and the game continued with barely enough players. The Panthers won, 5-0. Senators captain Brady Tkachuk told the Associated Press after the game, “I mean, I don’t think it’s bad to play with emotion.”

Morning. My first chance to drive a Tucson Hybrid will be early Dec. Paul, You could drop by today and drive our Tucson Hybrid, but you have to bring it back the same day. No trips to the Midwest... Ok, will Friday afternoon work instead? (Casper has Dog Club today and I have band tomorrow) When did you get your Tucson and how do you like it? And what trim line did you get? Blue, SEL Convenience, Limited? If you have the sunroof, do you like it, recommend it? Do you get above 30 mpg, below 30 or right on 30? And do all the push button controls continue to irritate or do you get used to them? Do you use the "information screen" for anything. The only thing I don't like about the CRV interior is that the information screen is perched on top the dash like a TV set. It looks "tacked on" and juts out and dominates the view. The rest of the interior is honey! The CRV wasn't a noisy as I had feared, but the "test reported" nearly hush quiet of the Tucson interior is appealing, if it holds true to test reports. And the 10 year warranty on the powertrain and battery is appealing. And I like its angular styling. Refreshing in this age of bubble cars. Everything is water, and the world is full of frogs. -D. I had a 3 hour pre-op screening this morning to verify that I am healthy enough for knee replacement surgery December 11. I passed, which is good, I think.
A friend asked me yesterday how my knee was. I told her the surgery isn't until December. She said she thought I already had it. If I did, I didn't notice. I hope she is right.

Rob, does your guy use that robotic arm thing?
The docs here have switched over to it.

Good afternoon. I just got back from my overnight outing. It was very pleasant and the muscles I hike with are all sore. In a good way.

Maki If you had been able to come to IJam, you could have driven a Highlander hybrid. I get around 33-36 mpg. I do enjoy the car, but the next one will probably be a RAV4 or maybe a Crown. The Sequoia is a little on the pricy side.
