Saw a fun one last night on Netflix. Hunter Killer. A nuc sub tense stand-off US vs Russia under the polar ice. Very much in the vein of Hunt for Red October. Mike gives it two thumbs up.

I watched some of it. I gave 0 stars. I decided to go somewhere else
What an ......... movie. Chose it because I love many of the actors in and after about 30 minutes I was wondering why these great actors agreed to be in a B movie. Poor writing and poor acting. I really enjoyed London Has Fallen and expected something similar. This movie is just mind numbingly dumb. (I only gave it 2 stars out of sympathy for some previously respected actors.)
Every plot is predictable. Too many movies of this kind where every time Russia having a problem, USA is the saviour. Too stereotype. Too typical of Hollywood propaganda. Weak performance by actors/actresses. Some people will say this is the answer after The Hunt For Red October but believe me, that movie stood by miles compare to this one.

Bob, I respect your opinion, but I will posit that not every movie needs to challenge you intellectually. Sometimes it can just be a fun ride. Mike

I enjoyed The Enemy Below, not because it's a great film but because it's a good story.

As a lad, I read and enjoyed "Run Silent, Run Deep." A film by that name was later made, but veered sharply from the book's plot and did not do too well financially. It starred Burt Lancaster and Clark Gable and featured the first film appearance by Don Rickles.

I'm not trying to challenge you. I had some movies that are sappy, fun, boring and I watch it anyway. ((( the new Maverick - it was a fine ride ))) There's a few that I don't like the movies and I'm not being a critique A simple theory

As a retired Navy sonarman I can nitpick the hell out of these movies, but what genre specific movie isn't full of inaccuracies. I recently watched Tom Hanks movie "Greyhound" on Netflix. Excellent flick about a destroyer running convey duty in the Atlantic during WWII. I really enjoyed it in spite of some inaccuracies. Haven't seen the flick in question but I might give it a try.

I liked Greyhound, too. I recommend it to anyone who can actually find it. AppleTV is the only place I know of.

Too many streaming services..it was on Apple+. I agree. You could go broke with streaming services just so you can watch one or two things on each. I had 3 months of Apple+ free because I bought an IPad. It is well worth free.
