I leave up our decorations until Epiphany, Jan 6. For no particular reason other than I like it. I was trained that way by our church and pastor, Father Kell. A traditional high church priest with a voice that would have done well handling out the tablets with the 10 Commandments back in the day. When I served as an acolyte in the early morning services during the dark of winter, his reading of the Gospel according to John would raise the hair on the back of my neck. ‘In the beginning…etc.’

I leave them up till about then. No magical date. Just when the weather breaks on a Saturday.

We lave ours up until Epiphany for essentially the same reasons as coachdoc. Neither my wife nor I put a lot of store in the church calendar but we like having a cutoff date for lights and decorations, however arbitrary it may be.

We’ll probably take our trees down on the tooth of Jan. No need to align it with the Christian calendar since Christmas trees have no relation to the feast day of the Nativity.

It is always good to put the tree up. It is also always good to take it down. I enjoy it up until New Year’s Day. After that, it’s time to pack it up.

We had decorations, Episcopal calendar - I had family (good memories) I have different family - in dimensions (H or H?) or "around the globe" (dialects) Ho Ho Ho (english american) How how how (Brit upper crust) O O O (wolves) hohoho (the departed Mr. Not Pronunciation)
