Amazon today, off tomorrow.
It's looking like my route is going to require me getting a new postal vehicle. The jeep is just too small for the daily Amazon load. Twenty year old vehicles with 100,000+ miles now cost $12,000-$15,000 or more. I may have painted myself into a very uncomfortable employment corner.
In musical news, this is awesome.

Good morning. Sunny and Florida cold this morning, mid 60's this afternoon. I've got Arsenal/Fulham this morning, then shopping and a bike ride. After that Claire and I will go to ground and I'll spend the evening comforting my whippet who fears the neighbors fireworks that will be going on later. The labrador and chihuahua don't mind the noise. Life goes on. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, everyone. I won't feel much nostalgia for 2023. As I'm sure I've mentioned, my wife plays solo handbells. She always agrees to provide the music at the Sunday church service after Christmas. It's probably the most lightly attended service of the year. She'll be playing Christmas music during the offertory and communion. I'll attend. As a bonus our rector is preaching and his sermons are always good. If anybody wants to tune in virtually you can do it here www.facebook.com/allsaintsphx or here www.youtube.com/channel/UCYo9rGAjYu7ljtOkJZikQwg. It'll be at 10:00 AM MST, which I think is 12:00 CDT/1:00 EDT. For Christmas I got a dry mix for making posole so I'll make some this afternoon for dinner. I've made posole several times but this mix obviously produces a different kind. As long as it's edible we'll be fine. If it isn't, we'll suddenly decide to eat out. Have a good day. Up on the final curtain for 2023. My New Year’s resolution is that I’m planing to wake up tomorrow morning. More than that, who can say?
Yesterdays family get together was fun but tiring. We were worried about having enough food for everyone, but Ha! We have so many leftovers we won’t have to cook for days. And I won a lottery scratch off ticket in bunco that’s worth a whole dollar! So I got that going for me. After everybody left, after putting all the food away, and after loading up the dish washer fir the second time, I sat down with the Collings for twenty minutes or so. Damn that guitar sounds good even to this hearing impaired old dude. Lucky I am.
Keep the rubber side down.

The only notable thing going on today is the Packer-Viking game tonight. I'm not sure which rivalry is stronger, Packer-Bears or Packers-Vikings. I've gone to Packer-Viking games in the past where mouthy Vikings fans came out of the game only to find their cars hoisted onto their sides.

We are supposed to get some freezing rain, so being safe at home sounds even better.

The ground is white this morning with a few snowflakes currently falling.
My big plan for the evening is to watch a little football, play a little guitar, eat a little pizza and go to bed at a sensible time. My New tower computer arrived yesterday, so sometime, probably on Monday I'll plug it in and start getting it set up in some useful, user friendly way.

Nico's Tacos in St. Paul has a killer version.

Good morning.
23F-30F cloudy. EDIT: It's all white our there today.
Ayana flies home about 9:30 and he sisters are taking her to the airport from their place near the U of M. We got a call at 6am , Ayana forgot her boots at our place. So it was a very early morning drive to Minneapolis to get them to her before they had to leave for her airport security check-in time of 7:30. This shall not deviate us from standard Sunday procedure, nope, we shall go to the Little Oven, HyVee and Cub pharmacy. Then home to clean up after the mess from last nights dinner, the girls cooked. Dinner was great but damn they make a mess. Tomorrow the tree comes down and it's all over until next year.
Our Simon is feeling a whole lot better and is grooming, eating and not isolating himself. In my lap purring as I type this.

Sounds like the Lions got cheated out of a victory last night -- on a two-point conversion a lineman needed to report to the refs as a receiver, which he says he did. Refs say he didn't, and so the Cowboys won by one point. I didn't watch it, just read about it this ayem.

Rainy and gloomy. Snow accumulation would be welcome.
Off to church for some Christmastide warmth. Daughter and DIL are working, so all four granddaughters and our son will be here afternoon and early evening. New Years Eve will be spent with a bored 11-year-old. We have encouraged said 11-year-old to invite a friend for a sleepover, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I'm not a fan of fireworks but I might get a few bottle rockets, which will be drowned out by the cacophony of heavy duty fireworks in the surrounding neighborhood.

I made a appointment for next week and told unless we want to pay emergency fees to just keep a close eye on him. Turned out to be good advice as he is SO much better as of last night.

My choir is taking a post-Christmas break, but Mr. H and I will still go to church this morning. We plan to stay up past midnight eastern time. The neighborhood party starts at 5:00 PM with drinks. Then a catered Mediterranean dinner at 6:00. Somewhere in there is a white elephant gift exchange. We found something in the cupboard to get rid of. All will probably be over around 8:00. We then walk the short distance home from the clubhouse and get comfortably settled in to watch the NYE festivities on TV.
I have to say that 2023 was pretty good to us. Life was almost normal. There were few health problems. We even got to travel some. Looking forward to an equally good 2024.
